Calving is now in full swing so I will be working closer to home for the next few weeks - planning appointments around daily farm checks.

I also popped into Kaipara Landscape Supplies to pick up some seeds for a project we've been planning for a while🤩

Fantastic couple of days helping the horses teach the foundations of Equine ConTact C.A.R.E. This group of ladies are already doing great work - having had their start with Lisa Bishop ConTact CARE - Flinchlock Release like I did. It was lovely to see, and help facilitate some lightbulb moments throughout the two days😊

15 Years of Listening

When people ask me what I do, the answer is simple…

I help horses find freedom in movement.

For more than 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping horses rediscover comfort, freedom and ease of movement through Equine ConTact C.A.R.E.

What continues to inspire me isn’t simply treating a horse…

It’s watching the moment they realise they no longer have to brace against their own body.

Every horse has a story.

Sometimes that story is written in tight muscles.
Sometimes it’s hidden in altered posture.
Sometimes it’s found in the way they hesitate to turn, collect, or simply stand comfortably.

I’ve learned that the body is incredibly intelligent.

When something isn’t working as it should, the body doesn’t give up—it adapts.

Those adaptations are often what we notice first.

My role isn’t to force change.

It’s to listen.

To understand what the horse’s body is communicating.

To restore structural balance so movement can become effortless again.

Whether your horse is a competition athlete, a treasured companion, or enjoying retirement, every horse deserves to move with comfort, confidence and dignity.

This work has become far more than a profession…

It’s a lifelong passion, and I’m grateful to every horse and every owner who has trusted me along the journey.

Here’s to helping horses move the way nature intended.

ConTact C.A.R.E for Down Cows
Down Cows place a significant drain on time, energy, and financial resources during an already demanding time of year. The speed at which a cow is safely assisted back to her feet directly affects her comfort, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

Yesterday I attended a down cow and demonstrated to the owner and staff what we look out for and how to release the pressurised bones that were hindering her progress. They now have a simple additional method to add to their already strong toolkit🤩

Goosebumps Equine Edition (zoom in) Piloerection during a session can indicate a shift in the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic (fight/flight) to parasympathetic (rest/digest) this was particularly nice to see given the reason for the session was that the horse had been demonstrating anxious behaviour in the past week😊
