If you haven’t been to one of our workshops before, I thought I’d show you how our Spring stretch & soul snacks morning will unfold...

🛬 You arrive at Mt Hutt Memorial Hall on Sunday 4th October just before 9am. Lauren and I welcome you in, and as people say hello and settle around you, there’s a warm, easy feeling of being part of something.

😌 You unfurl your yoga mat and settle in, knowing there is nowhere else you need to be for the next few hours.

🧘🏽‍♀️Lauren gently helps your body begin stretching and moving again. Afterwards, you’ll rest in a Spring meditation before we gather for something warm to sip.

🌱 Then I’ll take you into the world of Spring energy. Not as a complicated lesson, but through everyday things you might recognise in your body, your emotions and your life.

🏠 We’ll reflect on what the season might be stirring in you, explore some simple acupressure points and discover practical ways to work with Spring energy at home.

🥝 Later, we’ll gather around fresh seasonal food, taste some of the ideas we’ve been talking about and give everything a little time to settle.

💬 We’ll finish in a relaxed circle, with space to notice what you would like to take from the morning and carry into the rest of Spring.

☀️ By the time you leave, we hope you’ll feel a little looser, a little lighter and as though someone has properly thought about you for a few hours.

If you’re reading this thinking how good it would feel to have a few hours for you - we’d love you to join us - just $75 or $125 for you and a friend.

There’s something just so gorgeously honest about this.

Sometimes our best just isn’t available. We might be tired, tender, distracted, stretched thin or simply not in the mood!

And we are still worthy of being welcomed exactly as we are.

At our Spring stretch & soul snacks workshop, you don’t need to arrive feeling energised, flexible, sociable or ready to become a better version of yourself.

Come as you are.

Lauren and I will meet you there, with gentle yoga, meditation, Chinese medicine wisdom, nourishing food and space to simply be yourself for a morning.

Only six spaces left 🌿

Have hormones been mentioned in a conversation about your health lately?

Maybe it was your GP.
Maybe a specialist.
Maybe a friend who said, “That sounds hormonal.”

And then… life carried on.

Hormones can influence our energy, sleep, mood, concentration, recovery, menstrual cycles and so much more. But hearing the word “hormones” is very different from understanding what that actually means for your own body.

That’s exactly why Lauren has been putting together the Women’s Hormone Summit https://www.nourishnaturalhealthcare.co.nz/hormone-summit for all of us here in Canterbury!!!

She’s bringing together a panel of women from different areas of health to share their knowledge, answer your questions, and help make sense of hormones in a practical, down-to-earth way.

It’s a chance to hear different perspectives, ask the questions you’ve been wondering about, and leave with a better understanding of your own body.

I’m really looking forward to being part of the panel and sharing what I see through the lens of Chinese medicine, alongside a wonderful group of practitioners who each bring something different to the conversation.

If hormones have come up in your own health journey - or you’re simply curious to understand your body a little better - I think you’ll find this really worthwhile...

Hope to see you there 💛💛💛

Anyone else feeling winter in their body? ❄️

Whether you’ve been calving, working outside, or just noticing your shoulders and upper back creeping up towards your ears, this time of year can leave us feeling a bit tight.

One of my favourite acupressure points is what I call the flexibility point - AKA Gallbladder 34.

It’s the point I reach for whenever I treat someone a tight jaw, shoulder, hips or legs.

Finding the point:

Start at the bony bump on the outside of your knee. Then simply slide your finger a little down and forwards until you find a small dip. If you’ve found a spot that’s a little tender when you press it, you’re probably in the right place.

Once you’ve found the point:

Massage it firmly in small clockwise circles (or simply press into it) for 1–2 minutes on each leg. I often find it takes around 90 seconds before the tissues begin to soften, so don’t rush it.

If you need any help finding it do let me know!!! I’d also love to hear if you notice a difference 😊😊😊

If you enjoy practical little tools like this, we’ll be exploring more acupressure points, along with heaps of seasonal Chinese medicine insights in Lauren and I's Spring stretch & soul snacks morning on October 4th.

We’d love to see you there 🌿🌿🌿

A little peek behind the scenes…

Over the past few days, I’ve been preparing for our upcoming Spring stretch & soul snacks workshop and it’s reminded me how much the little things matter.

The tea people we'll sip together. The seasonal foods we’ll be nourished by. The practical tools everyone will take home. The timing, the flow and the rituals of the morning itself.

As I’ve been putting it together, I keep coming back to one simple question:

“What will help everyone leave feeling lighter than when they arrive?”

If something doesn’t add to that feeling, it doesn’t make the cut.

Lauren and I are really looking forward to sharing our morning with you. There are still a few places available if it sounds like the kind of Sunday morning you’d love...

FREE Foam-board for a school, preschool, artist or maker 🎨

I accidentally ordered more foam-board than I needed, so I’d love to pass it on to someone who can use it!!

There are:
• 3 large sheets (820 × 1020 mm, 5 mm thick)
• 2 smaller offcuts

Could this be useful for a local school, preschool, artist, model maker, crafter or anyone with a creative project?

I’d much rather see it put to good use than sitting in our spare room.

If you’d like it, just let me know. I'm happy to drop it off anywhere in Methven or in Ashburton when I next pop over. 😊

Is shoulder pain keeping you awake at night?🌙✨

One of the most common things I hear from people with shoulder pain (including frozen shoulder) isn’t just that it hurts… it’s how difficult it can be to find a comfortable position to sleep!!!

When you wake up every time you roll over, it’s difficult for your body to get the rest it needs to heal.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve shown clients simple ways to use pillows to support their body so they can get a better night’s sleep. I thought this information might help other people too...

💚 A few simple adjustments can make your shoulder feel much more supported:

→ Keep your hips stacked over each other.
→ Leave your bottom leg straight.
→ Bend your top knee and place a pillow between your knees.
→ Hug a pillow and let your sore arm rest on another pillow, allowing the pillow to carry the weight of your arm.
→ If you find yourself rolling backwards during the night, tuck another pillow behind your back for a little extra support.

The aim isn’t to find the perfect sleeping position.

It’s simply to support your body well enough that your muscles can relax and your shoulder gets a chance to rest.

Everyone’s shoulder is a little different, so let comfort be your guide. If something causes more pain, numbness or tingling, adjust the pillows until you find what feels supportive.

If you try this, I’d genuinely love to hear how you get on. Every shoulder is a little different, so I’d love to know what worked well - or what didn’t quite feel right! Your experience might help someone else who’s reading the comments too. 💚

I take the “soul snacks” part of Lauren and I’s Spring stretch & soul snacks workshop very seriously!!!🍋🌿

There’ll be leafy bites, raw slices, yummy smoothies and herbal infusions - all chosen to feel fresh, vibrant and properly delicious.

This isn’t about food rules or trying to be “good”.

It’s about enjoying seasonal flavours, gathering a few easy ideas, and remembering that food can offer us more than fuel. It can be a way of tending to our body, reconnecting with the season and bringing nourishment to the parts of ourself that need it most.

Come stretch.
Come snack.
Come feel nourished in more ways than one. ✨

Winter asks a lot of us, eh!?!

We’re getting up in the dark.
Putting on warm layers.
Making things happen when the weather is miserable and our energy often isn’t at full capacity.

We keep doing the practical things. The work things. The family things. The caring things. The life-admin things.

And maybe nobody would know that underneath, but we’re tired.

Not falling apart. Not necessarily anything dramatic. Just tired of pushing through. Tired of being cold. Tired of there always being something else to do before you get to yourself.

Maybe you miss having a little space outside the usual routine.
Maybe you miss feeling connected.
Maybe you would just love one morning where someone else has thought about what might feel good for you.

That’s why Lauren & I are running Spring stretch & soul snacks on Sunday 4th October.

A warm, gentle Spring morning with movement, nourishing food, practical wellbeing ideas, Chinese medicine, acupressure and good company.

Nothing to achieve.
Nothing to prove.
Just something entirely for you, after a cold winter.
