There was a little extra excitement at The Grange on Monday morning... our very first lamb of the season made its grand arrival! 🐑❄️

On one of the frostiest mornings we've had, with the paddocks sparkling white and everyone saying "brrrr!", this tiny bundle of fluff didn't seem to mind the chilly welcome at all.

A sure sign that spring isn't too far away... even if winter is still making us wrap up warm! 💙

The games are officially underway... and Team Grange is ready for action! 🇳🇿🏅

Our Care Residents are proudly decked out in their The Grange Commonwealth Games uniforms, armed with flags, plenty of cheering, and enough enthusiasm to rival the athletes in Glasgow!

While the world's best compete on the international stage, we've got our own fierce (and very friendly!) competition happening right here. Think indoor bowls, javelin, scooter obstacle courses, table tennis and target shooting – with a healthy dose of determination, laughter and a few gold medal celebrations along the way.

Who needs Glasgow when the atmosphere at The Grange is this good? Go Team Grange! 🥇🎉

🧶 Some people knit scarves. Some knit hats. And then there are those wonderfully talented people who create something that simply makes everyone smile.

One of our amazing residents, Doreen, has just finished knitting Mr Fortywinks – and what a character he is! ❤️

Dressed in bright red pyjamas with green buttons, sporting a candle on his nightcap, and armed with a toothbrush, toothpaste, a cosy blue hot water bottle, a cheerful green beanie, blue shoes with yellow laces, and even an alarm clock... he's ready for a perfect night's sleep!

Mr Fortywinks now has pride of place beside our bookcase, welcoming everyone who walks through the door. He's impossible to miss, impossible not to smile at, and a wonderful reminder of the incredible creativity, patience and talent our residents share with us every day.

We think he's absolutely bedtime story-worthy. 💙✨

😂 We absolutely love that our residents have such a wonderful sense of humour... and they certainly keep our DT team on their toes!

During a recent game of 'dog' themed bingo, Lee called out "Border Terrier!" Before anyone could blink, poor Rocco found himself sporting a blue dot like he was one of the players! 🐶🔵

Sadly, Rocco didn't quite complete a bingo line (he insists it was a counting error 😉), but he certainly won the prize for the biggest laugh of the day.

It's little moments like these that remind us that laughter really is the best medicine... especially when the dog joins in the fun! 💙

✨ What a wonderful way to celebrate Matariki. ✨

On Friday our Care Centre was filled with family, laughter, conversation and plenty of happy smiles as residents gathered for a very special Matariki Dinner.

The kitchen team created a delicious meal, while our amazing staff swapped their usual roles for the evening, tying on aprons and becoming waiters and waitresses to serve everyone at their tables. It was a simple gesture that made the night feel just that little bit more special.

Good food, great company and a room full of smiles... that's what Matariki is all about. A huge thank you to our wonderful team for creating such a memorable evening for our residents. 💙

☕ The Mains Café will be closing today from 1.00pm ☕

A quick heads-up for our wonderful café visitors – The Mains Café will be closed from 1.00pm today (Friday 24th July) for a private function.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but don't worry... we'll be back bright and early on Saturday, with the cabinet full of delicious goodies, your favourite coffee, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere you've all come to know and love.

☕ Sunshine, hot chocolate and great company... now that's a recipe for a pretty wonderful outing! ☀️

Our Care residents enjoyed a special trip to The Mains Café this week, where they were treated to delicious hot chocolates (with a few marshmallows... because life's too short not to! 😉), fabulous service from our wonderful café team and a front-row seat to a beautiful sunny day.

The sun was shining, the conversations were flowing, and we're fairly sure one or two chocolate moustaches made a surprise appearance along the way! 🍫😂

Sometimes it's the simplest moments that bring the biggest smiles, and this outing certainly ticked all the boxes.
