What Horse & Rider Physiotherapy said 😁

A great bit of new research in an infographic from Hartpury University. Pole work isn’t just about trotting over poles. Depending how we use them, different effects are seen. Higher poles, wider poles and doing them quickly create more extension (dipping) of the spine. This may not be ideal - go low, go short, go slow!

Love this.
The first things we focus on in our Physio consults are removing the ‘Barriers to Success’, like pain and stiffness. Muscles just don’t ’turn on’ properly and strengthen when there is pain or inflammation…quite the opposite.
Then, we use targeted home programs to activate better muscle and movement patterns where there has previously been inhibition. The things is, home programs tend to work better if we actually do them! (Reminder to myself). This means doing ALL the reps, ALL the days that you’re supposed to do them.
When things start to feel easier, we need to make it harder, for growth to continue.
And we talk about Recovery, which is sleep and nutrition as much as doing stretches and relative rest periods.
Thanks Equimotion!

The gloves have arrived and will be posted this morning. For some blonde reason, I ordered extras in small...have 3 available! If you have petite hands (see the size chart) and struggle in the cold, pop me a message x

If you missed this message before and are keen on gloves, I can do another order. I just need there to be a sizeable number (10+) of people who are keen, to offset the expense of getting them in (we are have extra fuel surcharges now)
