Chinese Qigong practice has always used Breathwork. For thousands of years Qi gong has been used to calm the nervous system. Now we know how.

Most people try to think their way out of stress.

But stress does not start in your thoughts.
It starts in your body.

When stress hits, your nervous system shifts into a high-alert state.
Your heart rate increases.
Your breathing becomes shallow.
And your thinking brain becomes less effective.

That is why self-talk often fails in the moment.

The fastest way to calm down is not through thoughts.
It is through physiology.

Your breath is one of the few levers you can use to directly influence your nervous system.

A simple pattern like a double inhale followed by a long exhale can rapidly reduce autonomic arousal and bring your body back toward a calmer state.

This is not a mindset trick.
It is a biological reflex.
