🍸 A taste of Golden Bay!

Our residents enjoyed a special gin and liqueur tasting hosted by Jeremy Knight from Kiwi Spirit Distillery.

Jeremy shared the stories, craftsmanship and local ingredients behind the family-owned distillery’s award-winning range, while residents had the opportunity to sample a selection of spirits handcrafted in Golden Bay. It was a fascinating—and delicious—way to learn more about the creativity and care behind New Zealand distilling.

More reasons to celebrate at Coastal View! 🏆

We're thrilled to share that Coastal View has been named a finalist in the Best Small Village, South Island category at the 2026 Seniors NZ, NZ's Best Awards, while Qestral, the parent company, has also been recognised as a finalist for the Multi-Village Excellence Award.

Adding to the excitement, Coastal View received special recognition for Outstanding Enjoyable Food. A huge congratulations to our talented kitchen team, whose passion, creativity and commitment help make every meal something to look forward to.

What makes these awards even more meaningful is that they're based on feedback from the people who know us best: our residents, families, visitors and team members.

🐟🍟 A classic Kiwi favourite!

Residents loved our recent Fish & Chip Theme Dinner, enjoying delicious fish, all the traditional sides and the choice to dine in or take away from 'The Coastal Catch'. Proof that you can’t beat fish and chips shared with good friends!

Residents enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of The Free House brewery, discovering how the beers are made before finishing with a guided tasting of handcrafted brews.
It was a fun and flavour-filled outing, with plenty of great conversation and a few new favourite pints discovered along the way!

🌿 Coastal View’s Garden Continues to Bloom 🌿

Our resident Gardening Club is thriving, thanks to the dedication of wonderful volunteers who continue to nurture and care for the village garden. 🍋

This season has brought an impressive crop of lemons and limes, along with plenty of fresh vegetables and colourful flowers. More than just a productive garden, it’s a place where residents can connect with nature, share gardening tips, and enjoy the rewards of working together.

✨ What a night! ✨

Our Dîner en Blanc–themed dinner was a truly elegant evening, filled with delicious food, live music, and wonderful company. Residents looked stunning dressed in white, creating a beautifully coordinated atmosphere that made the night feel extra special.

Our Wednesday walking group had a fantastic outing to Rough Island, soaking up the fresh air, scenic views and plenty of good company along the way. A lovely way to stay active, connected and make the most of a beautiful day out together!

We’re thrilled to share that Coastal View Lifestyle Village has been named winner of the Hawkins Multi Unit Residential Property Award at the Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards for the Yacht Club and Stage 4 (A/B/D) independent houses.

This is a special recognition of the care, design and teamwork behind Coastal View — from beautiful homes to shared spaces that bring people together every day. The Yacht Club sits at the heart of the village, creating a place to connect, relax and enjoy life by the coast.

A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been created and what it means for our community in Nelson.

Residents enjoyed a special TRILife Talk with Peta Mathias—renowned author, TV personality, and culinary tour host.

Her humour, warmth, and lively stories from kitchen to stage made her an unforgettable guest speaker, with plenty of laughs along the way.

This TRILife Live Talk is part of our award-winning TRILife Wellness Programme, recognised at the 2025 World Ageing Festival in Singapore for its outstanding lifestyle and activities programme.

Residents were invited to saddle up for a fun-filled Wild Wild West themed dinner in support of Hospice NZ. The evening featured hearty food, live country music, and great company, with performances by our very own Dani and Darragh helping create a warm and lively atmosphere.
