🖤 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹?

I had a lovely client message this week after buying some beautiful pieces of Bloodstone. She wasn't quite sure how to cleanse it or how to begin connecting with it and asked how I would personally do it.

I thought it was a great question to share because working with a new crystal really doesn't need to be complicated.

When I bring a new crystal home, I will usually clear it first. Bloodstone is generally okay with water, so for something like this I would simply hold it under running water. You can use the tap, or take it down to a river or the ocean if you want to make a little ritual out of it.

Just a little note here, 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿.

As the water runs over the crystal, I might say something like:

"𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣. 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩, 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙫𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨."

You can also visualise any old or unwanted energy simply being washed away.

Smoke is another lovely way to clear your crystals, using something like Palo Santo or sage, and you can use exactly the same clearing statement. But honestly, it doesn't really matter what words you use. It's the intention behind what you're doing that matters.

Once I've cleared a crystal, I like to give it a job to do. I always say crystals LOVE having a job! I'll hold it and think about what I would like its support with. It might be grounding, confidence, protection, healing, finding my voice, or whatever feels relevant at the time.

Then I might say:

"𝙄 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 [𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣], 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨."

From there, I just spend some time with it.

I might meditate with it, have it beside me while I'm working, or pop it near my bed for the first few nights. Sometimes I'll simply hold it and ask if there is anything it would like to share with me.

For me, that's really how you begin building a relationship with a crystal. And don't worry if you don't immediately feel something from it or receive some huge message. Just spend time with it, get to know its energy and notice how you feel when it's around.

It becomes a little bit like getting to know a new friend. 🖤

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗜'𝗺 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵... 🖤

We're right in the heart of the Lion's Gate energies this week, and I've noticed there are four crystals I keep finding myself drawn back to.

🧡 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘇
This crystal has been sitting right beside me while I've been writing and creating. I love Tangerine Quartz for its beautiful energy of creativity, joy, confidence and forward movement. It feels like a little ignition of life-force energy when I need to get out of my head and actually CREATE.

💙 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲
One of my forever favourites, particularly when I'm moving through change or stepping into something new. For me, Labradorite is about intuition, transformation and trusting what I'm sensing even when I can't see the entire path ahead.

🪙 𝗣𝘆𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲
I don't think this one needs much explanation during Lion's Gate! Abundance, confidence, manifestation and action. But what I particularly love about Pyrite is the reminder that manifestation isn't just about asking for something, we also have to recognise the opportunities when they arrive and be willing to move towards them.

💎 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝘂𝗹𝗶
This is one I reach for when I'm connecting more deeply with Spirit and my own inner knowing. Lapis Lazuli has long been associated with wisdom, truth, intuition and spiritual connection. For me, it helps quieten the external noise so I can hear what is actually coming through.

Looking at the four of them together, they actually tell quite a story: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁.

And that feels pretty spot-on for where I am right now.

One of the things I love most about crystals is noticing which ones we're naturally drawn towards at different stages of our lives. Sometimes that pull can tell us something about the energy we're needing, strengthening or moving through.

So I'm curious...
