Supporting Your Recovery After Breast Cancer Treatment 💗

At Physio Pilates, we understand that recovering from breast cancer treatment is about much more than healing a scar. It is a journey that can bring physical, emotional, and functional challenges long after surgery, chemo or radiotherapy has finished.

Our Cancer Rebab Physio provides gentle, compassionate, hands-on treatment to support women experiencing the effects of breast cancer treatment. Whether you have undergone a lumpectomy, partial or full mastectomy, lymph node removal, or breast reconstruction surgery, we are here to help you move, feel, and live more comfortably.

Breast cancer treatment can lead to changes within the body’s soft tissues, including scarring, adhesions, fibrosis, and tightness that may contribute to pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced movement. For some women, these symptoms can persist for months or even years after treatment.

Common concerns we help with include:
✨ Pain and discomfort
✨ Scar tissue and adhesions
✨ Tightness through the chest, shoulder, and arm
✨ Axillary Web Syndrome (cording)
✨ Lymphoedema and swelling
✨ Reduced shoulder and arm movement
✨ Muscle weakness and postural changes
✨ Difficulties returning to everyday activities and exercise

While exercises play an important role in recovery, they are often only one piece of the puzzle. Scar tissue and connective tissue changes can require skilled, hands-on physiotherapy treatment to help restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and support healthy tissue healing.

Most importantly, we understand that every recovery journey is unique. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout your rehabilitation.

You do not have to navigate these challenges alone. If you are experiencing ongoing symptoms following breast cancer treatment, we would love to help support your recovery.

💗 Gentle care, expert guidance, and support every step of the way.

Your body whispers before it screams ⚠️

Pain rarely comes out of nowhere. That “random” knee, Achilles, shin, or hip pain often started LONG before symptoms appeared.

Your body is incredibly good at compensating. It adapts, shifts movement patterns, and keeps you going… until it can’t anymore. Over time, those small dysfunctions can build like a snowball and eventually lead to pain or injury.

An experienced Physio has an eye for detail. We assess movement mechanics, strength, control, mobility, and the compensations your body may be hiding before they become bigger problems.

Don’t wait until pain forces you to slow down.
Get ahead of it — don’t let it get ahead of you.

At Physio Pilates New Plymouth, we help you move better, feel stronger, and stay active so you can keep doing the things you love 🏔️

Lee Ana is a CMC registered practitioner and ACC Treatment Provider with specialist scopes in Mental Health and Women’s Health (Obstetrics), integrating Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, bodywork, and holistic wellbeing approaches.

Her treatments are gentle, personalised, and centred around supporting the body as a whole. Alongside acupuncture using fine needles and gentle techniques, Lee-Ana also offers no-needle approaches including acupressure, Tuina (Chinese bodywork), stones, breathing exercises, meditation, Qigong, and self-care techniques to help patients feel empowered in their own healing journey.

Lee Ana has a particular passion for supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum care. Many women seek treatment for pregnancy-related discomforts, wellbeing support, and recovery during the postnatal period. East-Asian medicine places strong importance on restoring balance and supporting the body through these important stages of life.

She welcomes people looking for a calm, holistic, and supportive approach to health — whether for injury recovery, stress management, women’s health, pregnancy care, or overall wellbeing.

Cloe has been an Osteopath since 2009, graduating in France from the European College of Osteopathy.

Her approach focuses on finding the root cause of discomfort, rather than simply treating symptoms. Cloe welcomes patients of all ages and activity levels — from newborns to seniors, athletes to office workers.

She has a particular interest in supporting babies, pregnancy, and postpartum care, and continues to pursue regular postgraduate training in these areas.

Osteopathy can be especially beneficial for newborns following pregnancy and birth, helping gently address tension and strain that may contribute to unsettled behaviour, feeding difficulties, head turning preferences, or discomfort. Treatments are very gentle, calm, and tailored specifically for babies. We can vouch that she’s amazing with infants, having seen her ourselves for a colicky infant🙌

Cloe’s treatments are individualised, and tailored to each person. She uses a wide range of techniques including mobilisations, fascial release, visceral and cranial osteopathy, as well as manipulations when appropriate.

We’re so lucky to have her caring, knowledgeable approach alongside our team 💛

You can book online with Cloe through her website 💫
