Supporting Your Recovery After Breast Cancer Treatment 💗
At Physio Pilates, we understand that recovering from breast cancer treatment is about much more than healing a scar. It is a journey that can bring physical, emotional, and functional challenges long after surgery, chemo or radiotherapy has finished.
Our Cancer Rebab Physio provides gentle, compassionate, hands-on treatment to support women experiencing the effects of breast cancer treatment. Whether you have undergone a lumpectomy, partial or full mastectomy, lymph node removal, or breast reconstruction surgery, we are here to help you move, feel, and live more comfortably.
Breast cancer treatment can lead to changes within the body’s soft tissues, including scarring, adhesions, fibrosis, and tightness that may contribute to pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced movement. For some women, these symptoms can persist for months or even years after treatment.
Common concerns we help with include:
✨ Pain and discomfort
✨ Scar tissue and adhesions
✨ Tightness through the chest, shoulder, and arm
✨ Axillary Web Syndrome (cording)
✨ Lymphoedema and swelling
✨ Reduced shoulder and arm movement
✨ Muscle weakness and postural changes
✨ Difficulties returning to everyday activities and exercise
While exercises play an important role in recovery, they are often only one piece of the puzzle. Scar tissue and connective tissue changes can require skilled, hands-on physiotherapy treatment to help restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and support healthy tissue healing.
Most importantly, we understand that every recovery journey is unique. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout your rehabilitation.
You do not have to navigate these challenges alone. If you are experiencing ongoing symptoms following breast cancer treatment, we would love to help support your recovery.
💗 Gentle care, expert guidance, and support every step of the way.
