HEY, LETS CHAT ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS!
👉 Are they worth it? In my professional opinion; yes, absolutely. Many factors in our modern lives leave us depleted or needing an extra boost, whether our food is grown in nutrient-depleted soil, we have increased stress, illness or injury or simply wanting to live the ultimate long, healthy and happy life. But there's more to it than that. Keep reading to learn more....
👉 Do they work? Yes, at least if you source the right ones (more on that soon!) and if you take them the right way; when and how. Two quick examples, some supplements are 'fat soluble' and need to be taken with a source of fat (eg vitamin D, COQ10), and some minerals will compete with each other for absorption if you take them at the same time. Some nutrients will show rapid results, while some may be slower to show the signs, especially if there is deep repair work to be done in the body.
👉 Do I need them? Referring back to Q1, are you looking for relief for an illness or injury? Are you feeling stressed, fatigued, have skin issues or struggle to sleep? If the answer is yes, its very likely that supplements will fasttrack your results and in some cases I consider it cruicial for recovery. For some people, supplements may interfere with medication so this always needs to be considered before taking a new supplement.
👉 Which ones are best? I'll be honest, I generally don't recommend "all in one multi" supplements. Our bodies are more complex than that and the ingredients in these products can sometimes be... a bit rubbish. Yea, I said it. Your best option is to see a Nutritionist or a Naturopath to work out exactly what you need. And did you know, qualified practitioners also have access to far more effective products than what you find in the supermarket? This is particularly vital when buying supplements such as B vitamins and Omega-3's. The wrong products may cause you more harm than good.
🤓 I'd love to know, what do you think of supplements? Do you take them? Have you had good results? Or do you need some extra advice and direction to get you on a good regimee?
