💙 Meet Amanda & Lee-Anne, two of the amazing MCAs at our Healthcare Hub!

You’ll often find these two busy behind the scenes, supporting our clinicians, helping with patient care and doing all the little things that help keep a busy day at the Hub moving.

Our Medical Care Assistants are such an important part of the wider healthcare team, and Amanda and Lee-Anne bring plenty of care, energy and teamwork to their roles every day.

A big thank you to you both for everything you do for our patients, our clinicians and the wider Hub team. We’re very lucky to have you! 👏

Regular skin checks help detect changes early, including signs of melanoma and other skin cancers.

Keep an eye out for changes in moles such as:
• Size
• Shape
• Colour
• Bleeding or itching

If you notice anything unusual or would like peace of mind, book a check up with your GP, or with Skin on Forty-Five (located within the Healthcare Hub) for a 30 minute full Skin check.

Early detection can make a big difference.

Coastal Medical now offers ADHD screening for adults and young people.

Many people live with ADHD symptoms without realising what may be causing their challenges. Screening can be the first step toward understanding your health and accessing appropriate support.

ADHD may affect:
• Focus and concentration
• Organisation and time management
• Impulsivity or restlessness
• Work or study performance

We know plans change and sometimes you simply can’t make your appointment.

If that happens, please let our clinic team know as soon as you can. Your appointment can then be offered to another patient who may be waiting to see us.

This month, we held our inaugural Coastal Medical Recognition Awards, bringing our people together to celebrate the individuals and teams who make a difference every day.

What made the evening so special were the stories behind the nominations – people who support their colleagues, share their knowledge, find solutions, go the extra mile and make our patients and their whānau feel heard, understood and cared for.

These moments can often happen quietly, but together they help shape the culture of Coastal Medical.

Influenza A cases are rising across Taranaki

Flu is circulating widely, so now is a good time to take a few simple steps to protect yourself, your whānau and those around you.

Know the symptoms
Be aware of common flu symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, headaches, body aches and fatigue.

Stay home if you’re unwell
Give yourself time to recover and help reduce the spread of illness to others.

Consider an online GP consultation
If you need medical advice but are unwell, an online GP appointment may be a convenient option.

It’s not too late to get your flu vaccine
Flu vaccination is available from our clinics and remains one of the best ways to reduce your risk of influenza and help protect those around you.
