A big kiwi welcome to Tegan, our newest Physio all the way from England. Tegan is in her 3rd year of her Physio journey and started with our clinic a few months ago. She brings with her a vibrant, bubbly and positive vibe. Tegan has already embraced opportunities in Oamaru through playing in a hockey team, tried snowboarding, and is the physio for the North Otago womans' rugby team. Plus by all accounts if you see someone out and about in a banana costume this wknd, that will be Tegan out there living her best life 😉 😁 😆

Better late than never to introduce one of our newer staff members, Joel Brosnan. A local lad who started with us in January 2025. He is a fantastic asset to the team as I'm sure those that have been in to see him would agree. Joel is enthusiastic, personable, and knowledgeable. In the time he has been with us he has shown he cares about the outcomes of his clients, which is absolutely key to our clinic. Stay tuned for our next staff member introduction. 😁

There's been a couple of changes at our clinic - firstly some bright new and welcoming signage so you know you're in the right place. Secondly there's a new owner - Duncan Drew, a familiar face in the clinic, has recently taken over the business. What hasn't changed is our location and our fantastic staff, with Mike and Michele staying on for a wee while yet. Look out for some introductions to our newer physios in upcoming posts.

Another couple of successful sports strapping courses (Introductory and advanced). Thanks to Sara Harding from Sports Waitaki for organising these courses, as well as Carol Harding (NORFU Medical Team Head) and Mike & Joel from our clinic for all contributing to some great sessions.

One of our body's greatest weapons again illness and injury can also be a cause of diabetes, depression and cancer. Inflammation is sometimes an insidious force in our bodies, destroying healthy tissue without us even knowing it.

The Oamaru Physiotherapy Clinic is proud to support Kelly Harvey in the Sky Tower Challenge which happens this Saturday. Kelly will join fellow firefighters to climb 51 flights of stairs with 25 kg of full kit in order to help raise money for Leukemia and Blood Cancer NZ. Fantastic effort!
