We are excited to welcome Dr Eloise Mowbray, Senior House Officer, for her rural GP placement from Monday 20th July to Friday 4th September. Senior House Officers are qualified doctors but will have longer appointment times and will have oversight and supervision of our usual doctors. We would like to extend our gratitude to the community for your willingness to see and support these junior doctors at the Medical Centre.

Hi my name is Eloise Mowbray and I am a house officer from Waikato Hospital. I am originally from Auckland but have loved moving to the Waikato and making the most of what this wonderful area has to offer! Some of my hobbies include playing football/netball, crocheting, bouldering and reading. I am very much looking forward to spending time in Otorohanga and getting to know the community through my time in GP.

For most children and healthy adults, RSV symptoms are mild and similar to the common cold.
However, some people can be seriously unwell. Some can get bronchiolitis or pneumonia (infection of your lung) and they may need hospital care.
Below is a link to some information and warning signs that warrant immediate attention.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a very common virus in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is one of many viruses that cause infections of the respiratory tract - the parts of the body related to breathing.
