If you've been wondering where I've been.

A year ago, I took over as the Store Manager at Health 2000 Northlands, and I'm now ready to begin operating as a Naturopath from the store.

I'm ready and the store's ready (well almost). Are you ready?

✨ A little change can make a big difference! ✨

We’ve been busy behind the scenes giving our store a fresh new look — including our brand-new consultation area. 🤍

Designed to create a more comfortable, private and welcoming space where we can take the time to chat, understand your needs and help you find the right solution for you.

What do you think of the transformation?📸

We’re so excited to welcome you into our updated space. 💫

The world has become upside down. What's wrong is right and right is wrong.

Eat Paleo, Keto or Carnivore and you're considered extreme.

Eat KFC or McDonald's, and that's considered normal.

A bit of a confronting post.

What does extra weight look like when compared to the skeleton? It's very easy to focus on the outside, because we can't really imagine what is going on inside without special scans etc

This X-ray really made me think. Is it any wonder some people have hip and knee issues?

“Body Positivity” Shouldn’t Ignore the Medical Reality

This is a real X-ray showing the stark contrast between the human skeleton and excess body mass in severe obesity.

The bones are the same as anyone else's, but they are under immense strain.

This isn't just about appearance
• The spine is crushed under pressure
• The hips and knees deform over time
• The heart is pushed beyond its limits
• Organs like the liver and pancreas become overwhelmed
• The risk for cancer, stroke, and diabetes climbs rapidly

Fat isn't just 'extra'... It is dangerous.
It isn't beautiful. It is deadly.

Obesity is a chronic and complex disease, not a body type. And while it is serious, it is also treatable and preventable.

Sorry, ladies. You might enjoy a glass of w**e or cocktail, but there's no denying it's very, very bad for you.

Not just the gut microbe damage, the hangover, the interference with sleep or all the negative social issues that can come with drinking.

There's also this:

The benefits of an alcohol-free life surpass the outdated theory that light alcohol consumption is good for our health.

A recent study showed that Type 2 Diabetes can take 14 years off your life.

Not just shortening your life, but causing the last few years to be full of illness. Including frequent infections, blindness, ulcers, amputated limbs, poor energy, kidney disease/failure, heart disease, etc.

You can do something about it, take control and take those years back.

Type 2 Diabetes is a lifestyle disease. Don't leave it too late to make the changes. Choose a healthy old age by making lifestyle changes now.

A 2021 cross-sectional study of New Zealand school children found that approximately 15.2% of children had prediabetes.

Based on stats from other Western countries, I suspect it's actually much higher.

Diabetes Type 2 doesn't happen overnight. It progresses slowly over years. Certain signs or symptoms could detect future issues up to 17 years before a full-blown Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis might be made by a medical doctor.

What's the main trigger for prediabetes? Excess sugar in the diet, in the form of actual sugar, soft drinks/fruit juice, excess carbs - breads, cakes, cereals, etc.- ultra-processed foods, and likely seed oils, too.

What are you going to do about it? Are you going to let your child develop type 2 diabetes and all the complications that go with that disease?

It's not inevitable, and you can nip it in the bud. You just need to understand how.

That's what I'm here for. I'm focused on the metabolic health of you and your family.

Read Dr Gabrielle's short post or watch the video.

I agree with her formula. What do you think?
