Friday - A Heavy Rain Watch has been issued for Kapiti Coast Saturday. Expect periods of rain developing early, possibly heavy with the risk of squally thunderstorms in the morning. Strong northerlies. Winds may gust up to 90 km/h per hour in thunderstorms.

Period: 16hrs from 10am Saturday until 2am Sunday.
Area: The Tararua Range, also the Kapiti Coast, Horowhenua and parts of Wellington north of Porirua.

Forecast: Periods of heavy rain with possible thunderstorms, and amounts may approach warning criteria about the ranges and in localised areas elsewhere. Moderate chance of upgrading to a Warning.
