What a dude!

Ten-year-old Riley shaved his head to raise money for Arohanui Hospice, raising an incredible $700!

Our Levin group recently enjoyed a wonderful morning of creativity with volunteer Helena Coolen.

Helena shared her love of sewing and crafting, teaching the group how to make practical organisers for around the home. The blue organiser is designed to help keep medications organised, while the purple holder is perfect for keeping knitting wool and needles neatly together.

A huge thank you to Helena for generously sharing her time, creativity and skills. Everyone enjoyed learning something new and creating something useful to take home. 💜

What an incredible achievement!

A huge thank you to Christopher Grant, who challenged himself to ride around the Levin Velodrome for 24 hours to raise funds for Arohanui Hospice.

Thanks to Christopher's determination, the generosity of his supporters, and everyone who cheered him on along the way, an amazing $8,945 has been raised to help ensure specialist palliative care remains free of charge for people and whānau across our region.

Christopher, your commitment, grit and generosity have made a real difference. We're so grateful that you chose to support Hospice in such an inspiring way.

⭐ There were plenty of stars shining at our Palmerston North group recently as we celebrated Matariki together.

Our talented group baked and decorated delicious star biscuits and created beautiful star-shaped origami containers to take them home in.

The afternoon was made even more special with a visit from Nellie the Tibetan Terrier and her owner, Bette. Our Canine Friends volunteers truly are stars in our community, bringing comfort, connection and plenty of smiles wherever they go. Many of the team also visit our inpatient unit, Palmerston North Hospital and local rest homes. Thank you, Bette, and a special pat to Nellie for brightening our day. 🐾

To round out our Matariki celebrations, everyone enjoyed warming kūmara soup and rewena bread, lovingly prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff.

Light. Love. Matariki. ✨

Matariki is a time to connect, reflect and celebrate the people and communities around us.

To mark the occasion, Equity & Partnership Manager Di and Kaiāwhina Mike spent time travelling across our rohe, sharing the spirit of Matariki and Puanga with staff, volunteers, patients and supporters. From attending Mary Potter Hospice's Matariki celebration to visiting our Hospice Shops and spending time with our Creative Living group in Levin, it was a wonderful opportunity to come together.

One of the highlights came in our Feilding Hospice Shop, where volunteer Val greeted Di with, "Are you a fairy?" Without missing a beat, Di replied, "Yassss - a Matariki Puanga fairy!" ✨ Safe to say there were plenty of smiles shared that day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who welcomed Di and Mike so warmly. It was a privilege to celebrate Matariki alongside so many wonderful people and to share moments of connection, laughter and aroha across our community.

Aroha mai, aroha atu - love received, love returned. 💙

Every year, the Palmerston North Hot Rod Club holds its Swap Meet & Hot Rod Display, and we're honoured to once again be the event's chosen charity.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their continued support of Arohanui Hospice and for all the work that goes into organising such a fantastic community event.

$150,000 raised for Arohanui Hospice. What an incredible milestone.

One puncture repair at a time, our community has made a difference.

A huge thank you to Steve and his team at Steve's Tyre Service + Auto Care, who have raised an incredible $150,000 for Arohanui Hospice in just four years.

By donating $10 from every puncture repair, along with customer donations from Warrant of Fitness checks, they've created a simple but powerful way for our community to support Hospice.

Every puncture repair, every donation and every customer who chose Steve's has helped ensure specialist palliative care remains free of charge for local people and their whānau.

To Steve and his team, thank you for your generosity, commitment and belief in what Hospice means to our community. And to everyone who has supported this initiative along the way—thank you. This milestone belongs to all of you.

Local artist Dana James-Kennedy Art is supporting the Arohanui Hospice at her upcoming August art exhibition! She’s donating $1,000 from every original oil painting sold, and 10% of all other sales to the Hospice 💙

Opening night is on Friday the 7th of August, 5pm – 7pm, at Square Edge Community Art Centre, Palmerston North. The exhibition will be open to the public for the rest of the month from the 8th - 30th of August.
