CPR Refresher Day for the team 🩹

Our entire team completed our annual CPR refresher training last night.

While our clinical oversight requirements only require our registered nurses to maintain CPR certification, we’ve always felt that being prepared is a responsibility shared by the whole team.

Medical emergencies are uncommon, but if one were to occur, every member of our team has a role to play. Training together means we know how to respond calmly, confidently and as a team until emergency services arrive.

At the end of the day, an emergency can happen anywhere. We hope we never need these skills, but we believe it’s our responsibility to be prepared if we do.

It’s one of the many things that happens behind the scenes to help ensure a safe environment for our clients, our team and anyone who walks through our doors. 🩹❤️

“I want my skin to look fresher… but I don’t want injectables.”

Firstly… that’s completely okay.

Not everyone wants injectables, and they certainly aren’t the only way to achieve healthier, more radiant skin. Some of our favourite results come from simply improving the quality of the skin itself.

✨ Microneedling with Growth Factors
If your skin is starting to feel dull, crepey or tired, microneedling is a beautiful place to start. It works by encouraging your skin to produce more collagen while growth factors support the skin’s natural repair process. The result? Smoother, healthier, fresher-looking skin.

✨ Sylfirm X RF
Think of this as collagen stimulation on another level. Sylfirm X combines radiofrequency with microneedling to improve skin firmness, reduce redness, minimise pores, soften acne scarring and target pigmentation. It’s one of our favourite treatments for improving overall skin quality while keeping your results looking completely natural.

✨ Skin Genesis Laser Facial
Need a skin pick-me-up? Skin Genesis is perfect for brightening the complexion, calming redness and giving your skin that healthy glow we all love. It’s the treatment clients often describe as making them look “well-rested” without anyone quite knowing why.

The truth is, looking fresher doesn’t always mean adding volume or relaxing muscles.

Sometimes it’s simply about creating healthier skin.

If you’ve been thinking, “I want to do something, but injectables just aren’t for me,” we’d love to show you what’s possible.

Because confidence isn’t about looking different.

It’s about feeling like the very best version of you. 🤍

Have you heard of Sculptra?

While dermal filler has been around for years, Sculptra is a different approach to facial rejuvenation and one that more and more people are choosing.

So, what is it?

Unlike dermal filler, Sculptra doesn’t add volume by filling an area.

Instead, it works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production.

Why is that important?

Collagen is the protein that gives our skin its strength, structure and support. From our 30s onwards, we naturally lose collagen every year, contributing to thinner skin, reduced firmness and the gradual changes we associate with ageing.

Sculptra works beneath the surface, encouraging your body to replace some of that lost collagen. As new collagen develops over the following weeks and months, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in skin quality, facial support and overall rejuvenation.

So, what’s the difference?

đź’‰ Dermal Filler
• Replaces lost volume
• Results are immediate
• Best for enhancing or restoring specific areas

🌿 Sculptra
• Stimulates your own collagen
• Results develop gradually
• Improves the overall foundation and support of the face

Neither treatment is “better” - they simply do different jobs.

At Appearance Coach, we’ll always recommend the treatment that’s most appropriate for your facial structure, skin quality and goals. Sometimes that’s filler. Sometimes it’s Sculptra. Often, it’s a combination of both.

If you’ve never heard of Sculptra before and you’re curious whether it could be right for you, book a consultation. We’d love to explain your options and create a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

PDRN stands for Polydeoxyribonucleotide.

In simple terms, it’s a regenerative ingredient made up of small DNA fragments that are used to help support skin repair and regeneration.

Originally, PDRN was studied and used in wound healing and regenerative medicine because of its ability to help support tissue recovery and cellular repair processes.

In aesthetics and skincare, PDRN is valued because it may help support:
• collagen production
• hydration
• skin healing
• barrier repair
• inflammation control
• overall skin quality and resilience

You’ll often hear PDRN described as a “regenerative” ingredient because the focus isn’t simply masking concerns temporarily it’s about supporting healthier skin function over time.

Why is everyone talking about it right now?

Because the aesthetics industry is shifting towards regenerative skin health:
✨ improving skin quality
✨ supporting repair
✨ strengthening the skin barrier
✨ reducing inflammation
✨ promoting healthier-looking skin long term

PDRN can now be found in:
• injectable regenerative treatments
• post-procedure healing products
• advanced skincare formulations

At Appearance Coach, we’re especially excited about the new REGEN PDRN+ range from LIRA Clinical, which combines PDRN technology with advanced ingredients designed to support hydration, repair, and healthier skin function.

Think of it this way:

Traditional skincare often focuses on correcting visible problems.

Regenerative skincare focuses on helping the skin function better overall 🤍

Ever feel like your skin suddenly looks older during winter?

You’re not imagining it.

Winter can dramatically affect the skin because cooler temperatures, indoor heating, lower humidity, and wind exposure can all compromise the skin barrier and reduce hydration levels.

When the skin becomes dehydrated, we often notice:
• fine lines appearing more visible
• dullness and loss of glow
• crepey texture
• increased sensitivity and redness
• makeup sitting differently
• skin looking more tired overall

Often it’s less about “aging” and more about the skin struggling to function optimally.

This is why winter is one of our favourite times to focus on skin health, hydration, repair, and regeneration.

Treatments that can help support hydration and skin quality during the cooler months include:
• Profhilo for deep hydration and skin quality
• Boost and Glow treatments to support hydration and radiance
• regenerative skin treatments that support collagen and skin function
• LED therapy and barrier repair-focused treatments
• reviewing your skincare routine to ensure your products are supporting your skin properly during winter

Sometimes your skin simply needs a different approach seasonally.

At Appearance Coach, we focus on creating personalised treatment plans based on what your skin actually needs not just what’s trending.

If your skin has been feeling dull, dehydrated, reactive, or suddenly “older” this winter, it may be time for a skin review or consultation 🤍

Bruising is one of the most common and most normal risks of injectable treatments.

Whenever a needle enters the skin, there is a possibility of hitting a tiny blood vessel underneath the surface that simply cannot be seen with the naked eye.

It’s important to understand:
A bruise is not automatically a sign of “bad injecting.”

Some people bruise easily.
Some never bruise… until they suddenly do.
And even if you’ve never bruised before, the risk is always there with every injection.

Things you can do to help reduce the risk of bruising:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment
• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications where medically appropriate
• Be aware that fish oils, EFAs, garlic supplements, and Vitamin E may increase bruising risk
• Book your appointment at least 2 weeks before any important event or occasion

And remember, bruising is temporary.
