You eat pretty healthy… so why do you still feel exhausted?
Eating well is important, but sometimes fatigue isn't simply about whether your diet is “healthy.”
Here are a few things I might look at:
*Could your iron be low?*
Iron deficiency is particularly common in women and can contribute to fatigue, brain fog, poor concentration and feeling generally flat. And it's not only about how much iron you're eating, digestion and absorption matter too. Stomach acid, for example, plays a role in making iron available for absorption.
*Are you actually getting enough sleep?*
Sleep isn't wasted time. It's when your body does an enormous amount of repair and regulation. Melatonin, the hormone involved in our sleep-wake cycle, also has powerful antioxidant properties.
*Are you hydrated?*
Even mild dehydration can leave you feeling tired, headachy and less able to concentrate.
So if you're sitting at your desk at 3pm wondering why you could happily crawl underneath it for a nap… 😂 it might be worth looking at the bigger picture.
Because eating “healthy” doesn't automatically mean your body is getting everything it needs.
And that's exactly why I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition.
