Coming back to yourself isn’t necessarily a big, dramatic transformation.

Sometimes it’s incredibly ordinary.

You choose what *you* want for dinner.
You admit you don’t actually enjoy something anymore.
You pick up an old hobby.
You stop automatically saying yes.
You realise your preferences matter too.

Little by little, you stop organising your whole life around who you think you need to be.

And somewhere along the way, you catch yourself thinking:

**There I am.**

Healthy friendships don’t all have to look the same. Different relationships can hold different parts of our lives.

Sometimes the first sign that you need a little less isn’t a thought — it’s a reaction.

You’re more impatient than usual. Noise feels louder. Another question feels like one question too many. You notice yourself sighing, withdrawing, or getting irritated by things that normally wouldn’t bother you.

Before you decide you’re being grumpy, difficult, or unreasonable, get curious.

Maybe your nervous system is simply saying: I’ve had enough input for now.

You don’t always need to push through it or fix your attitude.

Sometimes you just need less noise, fewer demands, a bit of space, and a chance to come back to yourself.

What 'coming back to yourself' looks like in real life:

It doesn't always look profound.

Sometimes it's coffee alone. Music in the kitchen. Going for a walk. Leaving early. Turning your phone over. Saying no without writing a paragraph to explain why.

The ordinary things count.

What is one small thing that brings you back to yourself?

Giving yourself permission to be happy or to feel the feeling is something that you have complete control over. Sometimes we need to step away from societal expectations, and build ourselves up from the inside!

Sometimes growth isn’t about becoming a whole new version of yourself.

Sometimes it’s about coming back to yourself.

The parts of you that got quieter while you were busy being capable, helpful, agreeable, responsible… or simply getting through life.

Your needs.
Your voice.
Your boundaries.
The things that light you up.
Your own sense of knowing.

Maybe growth isn’t always about adding more.

Maybe it’s remembering who you were underneath all the shoulds.

It’s easy to lose sight of yourself when life gets full.

You become the worker, the parent, the partner, the friend, the person who remembers things, organises things and gets things done.

And none of those roles are bad.

But underneath all of them, there’s still you.

Your interests.
Your opinions.
Your creativity.
Your wants.
Your dreams.
The things that make you feel alive.

Sometimes coming back to yourself starts with one very simple question:

**What would feel like me today?**

I’d love you to answer that question in the comments — even if it’s something tiny.

And keep an eye out for my next reel. I’m talking more about what it can mean to **come back to yourself.**
