Flourish

Flourish Grounded in being, open to becoming. Nurturing sanctuary to breathe, move, grow and rest in ways that feel supportive. Raglan based, with Cambridge offerings.

Trauma-informed yoga, bodywork, wellbeing events and guidance through midlife transitions. Flourish
Strength. Connection. Wellness. At Flourish we believe that life should include more of the good stuff; like spontaneous cocktails, random acts of kindness and perfectly ripe avocados. But we understand that if you are a coffee drinking, list making, errand running superwoman (and you are!) sometime

s the good stuff just doesn't get a look in. So that's what we are here for, to add some more of the good stuff back into your crazy-ass life! We specialise in giving you permission to book out some 'me time'. We want to help you strengthen your muscles, quiet your mind and honour your health. Because we know that if you take some time to nourish your soul with nutrition, exercise and relationships, life just gets a little easier. Remember, just like cocktails, avocados and kindness, wellness is worth making some time for.

Come hang out with me (Erin) and Dorothy at The Cocktail Bar in Hamilton the night before my hip surgery! Yes, I can still move - I've just become more creative as to how I move my body to keep healthy and strong, while keeping an optimistic attitude :)

Thursday 13 August, 6-7pm (and we can stay on after to order yummy food and chat on cool loungers)
$28 for feel-good yoga class + cocktail/mocktail of your choice.

I would love to be sent off with hugs, laughs and good cheer before I take some time away to heal. Thank you beautiful Flourish community for all your support🩷 https://www.trybooking.com/nz/events/landing/20419

🦋 Life update from Erin - surgery date confirmed! 🦋

Over the past couple of years I have adapted my work around my progressive hip osteoarthritis, reducing my teaching and learning to be kinder to my body. Now I have a date for my double hip replacement surgery - Friday 14 August. I'll be taking a wee break from then while I trust my body to heal.

Living with osteoarthritis has changed me in many ways. It has taught me that my worth is not measured by how much I do or give and to listen to my body instead of overriding its signals. To be ok to receive help and accept this is all part of my journey.

As someone who encourages others to slow down, rest and honour their bodies, this whole experience has been my opportunity to embody those words.

Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside me. I look forward to returning when the time is right, with no pain, more freedom of movement and ready to spread my wings again!

Take care of yourselves, and I hope to see you before the 14th Aug or on the other side.

With love, Erin 🧡

An invitation to gently re-connect with yourself

Our bodies often carry the effects of trauma long after the events themselves have passed. Trauma Sensitive Yoga offers a self-paced, evidence-based way to support people experiencing the impacts of trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, grief or feeling disconnected from themselves.

Our next 8-week Trauma Sensitive Yoga series begins soon:

In person - Cambridge (for women)
Fridays, 11.00am-12.00pm starting 31 July

Online (for any gender)
Tuesdays, 7.00-8:00pm starting 28 July
or
Thursdays, 12.30-1.30pm starting 30 July

These classes are fully funded by ACC if you have an approved Sensitive Claim. And if not, you're also very welcome to join - self-funded option for anyone seeking a safe, compassionate space where choice and self-kindness are at the heart of every session.

Every practice offers invitations to notice your body in the present moment and move, breathe and rest in ways that feel supportive for you, with no requirement to share your story.

The groups are facilitated by Erin Fairgray, trauma-informed yoga teacher and Dr Vanessa Beavan, clinical psychologist. We open the space 15 minutes before and after each session for anyone who would like the opportunity for social connection, co-regulation or quiet integration.

Feel free to send me, Erin, a private message, or email: [email protected] with any questions or to join us this term or next. And if you know anyone who could benefit from this, please share, thank you.

After being shamed for laughing inappropriately, being too happy and asking 'why' too much I dimmed it all down to fit in. In midlife, a lot has changed. Instead of waiting for something good to happen to feel happy or waiting to hear or see something funny to laugh, I now give myself full permission to reclaim my joy, playfulness and natural curiosity. Free to express myself authentically again!

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Matariki long weekend!

This Sunday 12 July at our weekly gathering for women in Raglan
we are doing something a little different.

Somewhere along the way, the part of us that used to laugh for no reason and feel effortlessly in the moment may have got buried under the serious business of adult life.

This Sunday we'll be rediscovering joy, playfulness and lightness of being, with a gentle introduction to laughter yoga. You might be surprised how quickly real laughter arises and what it does for your mood, energy and spirit.

As always we begin with tea and meaningful conversation and close with guided restorative practices and rest to integrate the benefits.

Your first session is complimentary using code WELCOME1 when booking at:

We start up again in term 3 from Friday 24 July. Thanks to everyone who has come along and moved, breathed and rested with me!

To me, yoga is this and so much more. It's how I meet all parts of myself with acceptance (even the parts that are messy and uncomfortable to sit with) while staying open and trusting in what is unfolding and who I am becoming. Changes in life and in body are inevitable and yoga helps me to find safe ground in uncertain times. And gathering in community with other women has been my saving grace through all of life's seasons. A reminder we are never alone.
