💛 We need your voice.

Over the past few months, we've been listening to rangatahi across the Hibiscus Coast about how the cost of living is impacting their lives.

Now we'd love to hear from the wider community.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, employer, coach, teacher, volunteer, neighbour - or simply someone who cares about young people - we'd love to know what you're seeing.

We've created a quick 3-minute Community Sense Check to help us build a clearer picture of how the cost of living is affecting rangatahi across our Coast.

Your thoughts will help shape the Youth Hauora Network Open Letter, ensuring it reflects not only the voices of young people, but also the community walking alongside them.

💛 Every response matters.

🎙️ Community kōrero on More FM Rodney 💛

W***y had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Nick Rado from More FM Rodney and Julie from KidsLink last week - and what a great kōrero it was!

Julie shared all about the incredible mahi happening through KidsLink, a fantastic resource supporting parents and caregivers to find connection, information, and support for their tamariki.

Whether you're looking for guidance, wondering where to go for support, or simply wanting to connect with the right people - KidsLink helps link whānau with the services and resources they need.

A huge mihi to Julie for sharing your kaupapa with our community, and to Nick for continuing to create space for local organisations to share their mahi. 💛

Make sure you give KidsLink a follow to keep up to date with the amazing support they provide for whānau across Aotearoa.

✨ Matariki on the Coast 💛

What a beautiful way to welcome the Māori New Year.

It was incredibly special to see our community gathering together at Ōrewa Beach for the Matariki Dawn Service hosted by Te Herenga Waka o Ōrewa.

From sunrise reflections and meaningful kōrero to kai, connection, and yes... a few brave souls heading into the ocean! 🌊❄️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the morning so special.

💛 Te Herenga Waka o Ōrewa for hosting our community.

💛 Ōrewa Surf Club for creating the space for our community.

💛 Tamara and the team from X-abilities for creating a welcoming neurodiverse space.

💛 Salt Community Trust for the delicious kai.

💛 The Zero Waste team for helping care for our environment.

Moments like these remind us how powerful community can be when we come together.

Mānawatia a Matariki! ✨🌿

💛 A huge thank you to Ary from Muffin Magazine!

One of the highlights from our July Youth Hauora Network hui was hearing from Ary, the incredible 17-year-old founder of Muffin Magazine - Aotearoa's only independent youth-led print magazine.

Ary reminded us that young people don't just want to be heard... they want opportunities to share their ideas, stories, artwork and creativity with the world.

Muffin Magazine is exactly that - a platform created by young people, for young people.

Thank you, Ary, for sharing your passion, your journey, and reminding us all of the power of youth voice. We can't wait to see more rangatahi from the Hibiscus Coast sharing their stories through Muffin Magazine.

Ngā mihi nui, Ary - you're an absolute legend! 🌿💛

🏫 Ngā mihi nui, Ōrewa College!

A massive thank you to Wiri and the wonderful team at Ōrewa College for welcoming us into your space for our July Youth Hauora Network hui.

We especially want to acknowledge the rangatahi who joined us and generously shared their thoughts around our ongoing conversation about the impact the cost of living is having on young people.

Listening to youth voice is one of the most important things we can do as a community, and we're incredibly grateful to every student who was willing to contribute to the kōrero.

Thank you for hosting us, for opening your doors, and for continuing to champion the wellbeing of young people across our Coast.
