It was a privilege to spend this morning at Whangaparāoa College with HBC Youth Hauora Network and SO very many other organisations in our region who focus on supporting the tamariki & rangatahi in our region.

It's taken me over 22 years, 2 of which have been in the Tāmaki Makaurau region, to get to Auckland Zoo. With a 1pm Tuatara talk confirmed on entry, here I sit. Patiently, hopeful & SO excited to finally be super close to one of ourincredible taonga. 🩷
No glass, no perspex, no darkness ... somewhere in the space in front of where I sit in just under an hour a Tuatara will be... 💝
Maybe even this one 💚 & I know I'm gonna cry 💚

Ending the stigma of supporting someone going to see & simply chat with a qualified & safe Counsellor is surely everyone's wished for sny young person in their life who might be struggling.

I have been fortunate to participate in a workshop series hosted by the national workforce centres of Te Pou, Le Va, & Whāraurau.
The workshops were named: Ki Te Ao Mārama: Understanding trauma-informed approaches and pathways to healing. They were designed to support kaimahi, educators, and leaders across the mental health and addictions sector, equipping them with the necessary tools to advance trauma-informed approaches in their mahi.
It was wonderful to learn & hear from so many working in the wellbeing field, striving to improve their knowledge & hauora. Thank you
