Oh my goodness was that a cold morning, I've not had frost on my windscreen like this since my early morning commutes into Taupō. These pics were taken at 9am!!!.
It was a such delight to arrive at the HBC Youth Hauora Network hui this morning to the warmth, korero & connections this network affords all those striving to tautoko the rangatahi in our region. Thank you team for creating these opportunities

A dream ignited just over 20 years ago by one of these pou saw the Inaugural ISST Accredited Sandplay Symposium here in Aotearoa.
Sandplay has been in my world for over a decade. I 'caught' the inaugural Australian ISST Accredited training series. Colleagues now can complete much of their training here in Aotearoa.
It was trully wonderful to share these last 2 days with so many colleagues who have discovered the wonder & power of Sandplay Therapy. Not least knowing so many more clients will have the opportunity to experience this safe, creative therapy.

An opportunity to spend a few days immersed in Sandplay with colleagues from around Aotearoa & across from Australia is an experience I have missed. STANZA inaugural event here in Aotearoa it is wonderful. Thank you to all of those involved in making this possible: Jean, Carina, Sarah, Joy & Ron in particular.

A huge mihi to our outgoing Children's Commissioner Dr Claire Achmad 🩷

In her latest opinion piece, outgoing Children's Commissioner Dr Claire Achmad argues that improving children's wellbeing and reducing child poverty must remain a national priority, regardless of which party is in Government.

The Cure Kids 2026 State of Child Health report highlights worsening health outcomes for children in our most deprived communities, including record respiratory hospitalisation rates. Acute respiratory illnesses now account for one in five child and adolescent hospital admissions and more than one in three infant hospitalisations.

As our health system manages unprecedented demand from Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other respiratory illnesses this winter, Claire's key message is clear: these outcomes are preventable.
