My new blog post is available now and it’s short and sweet- a little yoga tip for improving your sleep …

Sleep is a pou/ pillar of health and wellbeing so it’s vital we get the best rest possible… one if the things so many wāhine on our course say is how great the sleep on yoga night!

Sleep can be an issue for many, especially wāhine during the perimenopause and menopause years as shifting hormones disrupt one of our most precious routines.

If you are having struggles with sleep, there may be some yoga practices than can offer some relief or at least combine with other sleep rituals to help.

One of these is breathing or prānayāma - the deep abdominal breath and long exhale are often the simplest and also the most profound.

Yoga encourages deeper breathing, helps to regulate, loosens tension, and renews energy… keep it simple - no need for complicated routines, sometimes the most simplest practice - like breath awareness- is the most profound… 🌿

Many women become deeply practiced in holding everything together-

🌙 Anticipating other’s needs.

🌙 Pushing through.

🌙 Staying productive.

🌙 Ignoring the signs of fatigue.

The body becomes efficient at, and used to ‘doing’.

Sometimes slowing down can feel uncomfortable….

If this resonate wāhine mā, maybe it’s time to take those breaks, put aside a time for you weekly, and learn to rest without collapse and burn out.

Invest in your rest. Invest in yourself. See you on the mat. 🙏🏽 Yoga for Wāhine is now open for casual attendees… more coming soon 🤍

Your slow deep breathing helps activate the stay and play, rest and digest nervous system, bringing you into balance, into the moment, allowing your body and mind to restore, relax, and release that which you no longer need.

It brings blood to the centre of the body, the vital organs, and slows the heartbeat. It alleviates stress and helps you to build resilience to deal with future stress. It empowers you because you know you have a tool in your kete that you can use to support yourself.

Yoga gives so many gifts. For wāhine who give so much, it’s your time to receive 🎁

To join Yoga for Wāhine see link in bio or comment wāhine for the link, self paced or live, this is the final call for term 3.
