Stop looking at your nose under a magnifying glass. It really can make you anxious!
A lot of people notice tiny dark dots on their nose when they look in the mirror. They can make the skin look a little dirty, so it’s normal to want them gone.
When clients come in for treatments, I often hear:
“Can you help remove all the blackheads on my nose?”
“Do you have a treatment just for this area?”
But here’s something many people don’t realize:
Those little dots aren’t always blackheads or dirt.
In fact, many of them are simply a mix of natural oil (sebum) and dead skin cells sitting inside the pores. They’re especially common on the nose because this area naturally produces more oil than the rest of the face.
So sometimes, what you’re seeing is actually a normal part of your skin, not something that needs to be completely removed.
The problem is that the more we try to make the pores look “perfectly clean,” the easier it is to overdo it. Too much squeezing, scrubbing, or extracting can leave the skin red, sensitive, and irritated. It can also make pores appear more noticeable over time.
And even if you manage to remove everything, those dots often come back because your skin naturally continues producing oil. That’s just how healthy skin works.
That’s why, when I do treatments, my goal isn’t to clear every single dot.
Instead, I focus on improving your skin’s overall condition and helping it become balanced, healthy, and comfortable.
Because beautiful skin doesn’t mean having zero visible pores or tiny dots.
It means your skin looks clean, smooth, healthy, and doesn’t leave you constantly worrying about it.
So don’t be too hard on yourself, beauties. Sometimes we’re standing so close to the mirror that we end up magnifying tiny things that nobody else even notices.
If you’ve been struggling with your nose area, it may not be that you’re doing something wrong—it might just be that your skin needs a different approach.
Feel free to come see me. I’ll help you understand what’s really happening with your skin, what actually needs attention, and what you can stop stressing about.
