Today we had trip into the past with an historical talk at Riccarton house. We learnt all about the Dean family and the beginnings of Christchurch city. Such a beautiful historic building.
We enjoyed a lovely cuppa and Devonshire scones, while we sat in the main dining room listening to the talk.
It was a gorgeous day, in a beautiful setting and it was very interesting.

So after our lovely Mid-winter Solstice meal we gathered in the lounge for some fun winter games. We had a game of snowball toss into the cups, then smash the penguins down with snowballs, followed by a game of throw a 6 on the dice and dress the snowman (Mr Puddles) as fast as you can before someone else gets a 6. It was lovely to see so many giving it all a go.
We also enjoyed a cup of hot milk chocolate with marshmallows, to warm us up on this cold winters day.
So much fun and so many amazing staff and residents who made the day so special.

What an awesome day today at our Mid-Winter Solstice lunch! Look how amazing all our staff and residents looked! The costumes were amazing and it was so nice to see so many get into the winter spirit.
We all enjoyed a wonderful meal of an entree and then a main meal of beef, Yorkshire pudd and roasted vegetables. Followed by a winter snowflake desert.
We had a hamper and prizes for the best dressed staff and residents. I wish we could have given everyone a prize, you all looked so great!
Such a lovely day together!

We took a nice trip out to Kirwee this morning to the Thirsty Acres tavern for a combined luncheon with the other Elms court villages. Lovely atmosphere by the fire and wonderful food. Of course it is never to cold to enjoy an ice cream sundae to finish the meal!

Everybody enjoyed the entertainment this afternoon. There was a lot of toe tapping and singing-a-long.
