Let’s talk perimenopause.

Have you noticed changes in your skin, but still find yourself buying the same products and hoping for better results?

During perimenopause, skin can become drier, more sensitive, and may not hold moisture as well. Rather than picking up another similar product, it helps to rethink your routine.

Begin with a few simple steps: Choose a gentle cleanser that leaves your skin comfortable, not tight. Keep your skin barrier healthy by making sure it stays well-hydrated. Apply SPF daily, and add new active ingredients slowly instead of switching your whole routine at once.

Your skin is still responding; it might just need a new approach. This isn’t the end of healthy skin. It’s a chance to get to know it better. If you need advice, ask Dianne.

“I feel as though my skin has suddenly aged.” It’s something many women notice, particularly during perimenopause and menopause.

Changes in hormone levels can affect collagen, hydration, elasticity and the way your skin protects and repairs itself. Skin may begin to feel drier, look less radiant or seem different almost overnight.

While these changes are natural, you don’t simply have to accept skin that no longer feels like yours. With the right professional treatments, carefully chosen skincare and a plan designed around your changing skin, you can support its health, strength and vitality.

At skinmatters, we begin with a consultation to understand what has changed and what your skin needs now. Because the answer isn’t necessarily more skincare, it’s the right care for the skin you have today.

Price doesn't determine whether a skincare product is right for your skin. The ingredients, the formulation, and whether it's appropriate for your skin type and concerns are what really matter.

Sometimes a simple, well-formulated product will deliver better results than an expensive one that's not suited to your skin.

At skinmatters, we don't recommend products because they're fashionable. We recommend products because they're right for your skin. Healthy skin starts with informed choices, not expensive ones.

Your skin doesn't stop changing. Neither should your skincare. One of the biggest misconceptions about skincare is that once you've found products you like, you'll use them forever.

The reality is, your skin is constantly changing; age, hormones, the seasons, stress and your environment all influence what your skin needs.

That's why a skincare routine that worked five years ago may no longer deliver the same results today.

At skinmatters, we believe healthy skin begins with understanding your skin. A personalised consultation allows us to assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and recommend professional treatments and skincare appropriate for where your skin is now, not where it was years ago.

Healthy skin isn't about following trends. It's about making informed choices and supporting your skin through every stage of life.

This is where your skin journey begins.

Your skin is unique, and understanding what it truly needs takes time. During your consultation, Dianne will listen to your concerns, consider your lifestyle and discuss what you would like to achieve.

From there, she’ll create a personalised plan that brings together the right professional treatments and skincare for you, with thoughtful adjustments as your skin changes.

Because healthy, confident skin isn’t about doing everything at once or following trends. It’s about making informed choices and caring for your skin consistently over time.

We look forward to welcoming you to skinmatters.

Healthy skin starts with healthy skin cells. Beautiful skin isn't created by covering imperfections. It's created by supporting the skin so it functions at its best.

That's why I chose Environ as one of the professional skincare ranges we offer at skinmatters. Environ combines scientifically researched ingredients, including vitamin A, to help restore, protect and maintain skin health.

Vitamin A is one of the most important ingredients for healthy skin. It helps your skin work as it should and can improve the look of fine lines, uneven tone, sun damage, dryness, loss of firmness, and problem skin.

At skinmatters, we know that skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your skin is unique, so your home care should be too. Every Environ recommendation is made just for you, based on your skin, your concerns, and your goals. This way, you can get healthier skin over time. Great skin doesn’t come from just one product.

It's built with the right products, professional guidance and consistency.
Healthy skin never goes out of style. Have you tried Environ?

Winter is IPL season. Here's why.

If pigmentation, sun damage, facial redness or broken capillaries have been bothering you, winter is the ideal time to begin IPL treatment.

Why?

Because your skin naturally receives less UV exposure during the cooler months, it creates better conditions for treatment and recovery.

Starting your IPL journey in winter means:

• Treating pigmentation before it becomes more noticeable in summer.
• Giving your skin time to heal between treatments.
• Building gradual, natural-looking results ready for the warmer months ahead.

IPL isn't about quick fixes. It's about improving your skin's overall health and appearance through a personalised treatment plan tailored to your skin.

Every skin is different, which is why every IPL journey at skinmatters begins with a comprehensive consultation. Together, we'll assess your skin concerns, discuss your goals and determine whether IPL is the most suitable treatment for you.

Healthy skin is built over time. Winter is simply the best place to start.

What does beauty mean to you?

For many women, our definition of beauty changes as we move through life.

In our twenties, it may have been about appearance. Later, it becomes something deeper.

Confidence. Health. Strength.

Feeling comfortable in your own skin.

At skinmatters, we don’t believe beauty is about chasing perfection or turning back the clock. We believe it’s about understanding your skin, caring for it with intention, and supporting it through every stage of life.

Healthy skin isn’t about looking younger. It’s about looking like the best version of you.

We’d love to know: how would you define beauty today?

Matariki offers an opportunity to acknowledge where we've come from, appreciate the present, and set intentions for the months ahead.

It's also a reminder that meaningful change doesn't happen overnight. Whether it's our wellbeing, our health, or our skin, lasting results are built through knowledge, consistency and the small decisions we make over time.

At skinmatters, we believe healthy skin is a journey. Through education, personalised care and evidence-based treatments, we're here to support your skin at every stage of that journey.

Wishing all our wonderful clients and friends a peaceful and meaningful Matariki.
