Today I tried Cold Water Immersion CWI,
Aka an Ice cold bath.
Because it is winter and water is around 1°C out in the country side I actually didnt need to add any ice.
Did take time to take photos no.
I was in the moment and naked so didnt want to try take photos.
I also listened to a sounding healing 432hz singing bowls track through the load speaker.
I stayed in the freezing water much longer then I realized and probably should have on my first time. 31mins. I honestly thought it had only been 15mins.
The Mind is amazing. If I had have been watching a clock watching the seconds tick by I probably wouldn't have lasted past 5 mins. It took about 90 seconds to become emerged to the top of the neck.
Being in upto the top of the neck line stimulates the vagus nerve. Which has immense health benefits.
The vagus nerve travels into the body, passing the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, the reproductive system, and many other organs. It takes readings from each and passes on messages from the brain, like a neuronal superhighway. As the largest nerve in the body, it covers a stunning amount of ground.
Stimulating the vagus nerve can ‘wake up’ the Parasympathetic Nervous System. This then goes to work in various beneficial ways. Stomach acid and digestive enzyme production increases, ensuring the proper and sustained absorption of vital nutrients. Blood pressure is lowered. The immune system is properly regulated. Hormones and enzymes like oxytocin and acetylcholine are stimulated, aiding the body’s general health and improving psychological.
And the benefits go on and on.
