Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures which move us to a renewal of the spirit and openness to the forces which create and uphold life;
Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love;
Wisdom from the world’s religions, which inspire us in our ethical and spiritual life;
Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our neighbors as ourselves;
Humanist teachings, which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit;
Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions, which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. We join together not because we have a shared concept of the divine. Rather we gather knowing that life is richer in community than when we go it alone. We gather to know and be known, to comfort and be comforted, to celebrate the mystery that binds us, each to all. We welcome you in the fullness of your beliefs. Join us in exploring life’s deepest questions in a spiritually diverse, supportive, and challenging community. We are excited to meet you where you are, and see how we can all learn and grow together. Sally Mabelle was raised in the Anglican/ Episcopal tradition and discovered Unitarian Universalism 40 years ago as a student at the University of Virginia. She has led services in UU churches in Pennsylvania and Colorado, and independent services in Baltimore, Maui, Kauai, the UK and in the past 12 years for Auckland Unitarian Church. She has also practiced mindfulness meditation, kirtan, Sufi chanting (zikr), and led sacred singing workshops for the past 25+ years, and is a certified leader and mentor of the Dances of Universal Peace. As an ordained interfaith minister (cherag) and student in the tradition of the Universalist Church of All (Sufi Ruhaniat International), she promotes interfaith harmony and the unity of religious Ideals.
