The final May baby arrived for T-L, but she decided June was a better birthday month for her. So, this makes her the last May baby, but the first June baby! This gorgeous "gender surprise" baby, was born in the pool as planned, and in the same birth room as her older brother and sister... now, that's pretty special! Your beautiful Mumma did so well, with loving support from your doting Daddy. Your big brother and big sister think you are awesome! Welcome and Happy Birthday sweet, baby girl. X🩷

A lovely return family welcomed their 3rd, (and last...) baby on the 19th of May. Another handsome boy, making it a trifecta of blue! 💙💙💙. Clever Mumma came into maternity in well-established labour, after niggling lots overnight - very typical for our "wildcard" third babies. Waters broke and within less than 10 minutes baby boy was here! Mumma did so well and had great support from a proud Daddy. Two older brothers are for sure going to be your best mates in life. Welcome to the world, sweet, baby boy. X🩵

Opening morning of duck shooting was the birthday for a beautiful baby girl, who arrived in very speedy fashion! Mumma only just had enough time to hop in the pool and she was here! A proud Daddy did not mind one bit that this year's opening morning was put on hold. A doting big brother is very protective over you. Welcome to the world sweet, baby girl. X🩷🦆

What a great start to the week... a gorgeous new Taupo resident. During the early hours this morning, a third time mamma called to say 'yep, I'm ready to head to maternity'... 5 minutes later daddy called back.... a very loud newborn baby's cry heard in the background! Mamma got to the front door and thought, "I need to push" and she did, and very quickly after that, a beautiful gender-surprise baby was in daddy's arms... A gorgeous baby GIRL.🩷 What an absolute star mamma was. And to think she was worried about getting to maternity and not being very far along... Third baby wild card, they either dick about or get on out - quick sharpish! So, an unplanned homebirth it is then 😆 Welcome to the world sweet baby girl. Congratulations family.

Yesterday saw a beautiful family, and a repeat client, finally meet their baby boy. The last month has been quite a challenge for this family, with lots of anxiety and unknowns. Due to complications, Mamma also needed to give up on her so badly wanted, repeat beautiful waterbirth, just like with baby number one. Mamma remained so positive despite her internal struggles. She showed true warrior mamma power. A birth at Waikato was deemed the safest and most appropriate place to deliver bubs. Mamma, supported by her loving and always attentive hubby, patiently awaited labour to kick in and got ready to do the last hard yards to meet baby. We got to the stage where waters were broken, and OMG! It was like Niagara Falls, soooooo much fluid! This bubs was coming in hot on the biggest wave!! But then, a very serious complication and off to the theatre in a rush we all went. Yet again, the warrior princess stayed strong, dedicated to getting baby out safely. Baby boy arrived, and the nervous air of almost silence in the room was interrupted by the most immediate and vigorous cry.... yep tears were a flowing. And yes!!! A Western Wednesday arrival of the newest cutest cowboy in town! There's a bit of a journey to go for both mamma and baby boy, but I know she can do it. She is a resilient warrior who has faced fear, pain, and the unexpected, yet kept moving forward with courage. Mamma has a wonderful support crew, I just know it will all be alright with the love all around. Congratulations family.

On 11th June first thing in the morning, baby boy let us know he was ready to meet mummy and daddy at long last. Breaking his waters and then initiating contractions. Back-breaking contractions came rolling in, making mamma work so hard. After a little false start to established labour, mamma worked incredibly hard at home, her partner providing loving words of support and encouragement, and hand-squeezing duties, to ensure labour was established before heading back into Maternity. Now, this little boy wasn’t in the best position, and he was also telling us he wasn’t happy at all. So, some medicine to slow down contractions, and a transfer to Rotorua was called for to ensure the safety of mamma and bubs. After arriving at Rotorua, regular contractions returned, and baby boy appeared to be happier now, having got himself out of the OP position on the ambulance ride over. Mamma worked so hard, she dug deep, and some, she was slammed with contractions, but she did it, she pushed out her son, what a star. Congratulations Whanau, he’s a little cutie.

Another superstar mamma has joined the Taupo Multiples Club! On the 3rd June, an awesome first-time mamma called the midwife to say “we tempted fate yesterday (in clinic), my waters have broken!” A little earlier than we wanted at 35+4, with an induction scheduled for 37 weeks, for a twin pregnancy. So off to Rotorua mamma went, to prepare for the arrival of her little ones. Mamma patiently awaited labour to start, giving her bubs as much time as possible in their human incubator. Then on the 7th June labour started. What an absolute warrior mamma was. She took everything in her stride, calmly meeting each contraction with such strength and determination. Then, fully dilated, baby number one in a great position, an hour for passive descent, and then the big push. Baby girl arrived in no time, giving us all the ‘I’m here’ cry, that we so love to hear. Oh, there were a few tears in the room for sure! Then the challenge was on. Daddy was a twin, and his mamma delivered both babes within 4 minutes of each other… However, this was not a sprint; it was a marathon. Baby number two got herself lined up well and then out she came, 8 minutes between them. What an awesome achievement for this mamma. She trusted in her body and her strength. She knew she had it in her to birth her babies, her way. I hope she knows how truly proud of her we are. Welcome, sweet baby girls, your family are so happy to see you arrive safe and sound. You won’t be short of love and cuddles, that is for sure.

During the wee small hours of the 22nd April, a lovely return client and second-time mamma got a little bit of a surprise; baby boy was on his way. Her first bubs arrived some 2 weeks further on than this little boy, and mamma thought she was in for the long haul again. Ahhh it was Western Wednesday, bubs knew he wanted to be a clever little cowboy! A bit of a dash over to Rotorua was required as bubs had done a p**p in his waters, and we wanted to keep everyone safe. Well, the ambulance ride and second baby muscle memory played very nicely together, as on arrival at Rotorua,10cms dilated! from 2cms only a few hours prior. What an absolute warrior, mamma pushed her little man out in no time really, not that it felt like that to her! Another son to join this gorgeous family. Best buddies for life, for sure.
