MAMAS KORERO MOTHERS DAY EDITION

Last night instead of our norm wānanga, we decided to go out, dress up, have a mamas ladies night out celebrating our growth, our changes, our beauty both inner and outer, and connect in a different way. We had our trusty fish bowl with all things spicy, humble, and lovely, great conversation starters and ways to get to know people. It was nice to celebrate being a woman, being a mother and enjoying spending it with these ladies. We each have grown as a mother and a woman but upon reflection we have all put in the energy and effort to do and be better. Thank you ladies for our mamas night special, the vulnerability in sharing space and time together is beautiful and you are all phenomenal women in your own right. Here’s to the next girls date 🫶🏽

MAMA TABLE TALK

Last night we were welcomed back into our space with a Mamas table talk, a take on red table talk, talking about all the things. We had deep, vulnerable, spicy korero that drew out a lot of the stories of our past that actually created beautiful funny moments and sometimes a real deep sadness. Do you and your girls make time to talk about real stuff past present and future or do you take a step back out of fear of judgement, opinions and what others will say. All these women made a commitment to share be open and vulnerable and it was a beautiful space to be in and have real talk 🫶🏽

SLACKING IN THIS SPACE
Sorry wahine ma, Mamas Korero space has really been driving and mamas be growing that I’ve been bathing in that space and forgetting to do any content. It has now shined upon me that if I do t do this you fullas don’t know what we do or learn etc.
So this was Wananga 1 of Mamas Korero and was more just an intro night of what the wananga are all about, why this space was created and building a connection within a mamahood. Whanaungatanga ❤️
Out of respect, you will not see the faces of our wahine as they are creating the safe space they require for this space of growth and understanding.
I will do better and post a lil bit more 🤪

REAL MUM LIFE
Sorry I haven’t been very present here, mum life has taken over also whilst I sit in a space of grief. Some days are a breeze others to hard to even get out of bed. Body hurts, minds tired & fuzzy, Wairua always showing me where to flow and move and my whanau are at times feeling what im wearing. I’ve opted for simple in this space of grief but also as a present mum. Doing things in my capacity and understanding what I can handle atm. 2024 was the hardest for me in terms of being a solo parent and learning about my kids and all their very different needs. I’ve taken all the learnings from that and want to work more on them this time round. Although there is an added ingredient of grief, that to has been a sad and happy place for me.
They do coexist and they do allow me to flow and not control and stop things. Sorry this seems like a rant now, look after your whare Tapawha whānau, it’s a tool to check yourself and how you’re doing. Utilise your tools and processes just to help make things in the day feel a little bit lighter.

Happy halfway mark of Matariki

What a first 6 months of Matariki it has been. When we had our ceremony for Matariki, (what I wrote down) everything was intentional about change, growth, learning lessons differently, rounding things off, planting and growing new seeds and having courage and belief to back myself. I had planted seeds for at least 3 years around Mamas Korero but allowing it the time and space to come to fruition, I’m glad I let the flow of the process navigate that as it is now been birthed and needing all the nutrients and goodness.. These past few months, I’ve felt and observed so many feels, emotions, experiences as both a mama and a woman. From courage to bravery, love and honor, truth and honesty, level ups, strength and adversity, low levelled mamae, allowing my actions to speak as loud as my words. The next half of the year is about showing you what Mamas Korero has in the works and the new things you can learn about yourself as a mama and a wahine.
We have our Wānanga space opening on Feb 13th 2025 in Papamoa, we have 6 spots left there, we have workshops coming, ceremony’s, more events and a couple of surprises.. Mamas Korero has a jam packed year coming.. come be a part of this movement and let’s grow together.
If change is what you are needing and growth is where you at, come be a part of Mamas, you won’t regret it..
