The Wish 4 Fish Charity Access for all! Our country has some of the most beautiful natural resources in the world and we believe all New Zealanders should be able to enjoy this.

We help people with health and wellness challenges get out on the water and enjoy the freedom and pleasure of our ocean waters along with inspiring change in attitude to accessibility and inclusivity across our communities. Fishing and boating are some of New Zealand’s most popular recreational activities, which those with physical and mental disabilities are currently not being catered for. To sh

are these experiences with our wider community, we arrange charity trips for individuals with physical and mental disabilities and their carer’s, who are often family members. The benefits from our trips go beyond a day out on the water. It provides our Charity’s beneficiaries the sense of what can be achieved despite some of the most difficult circumstances they experience. A day out on the water can bring so much joy and can provide our beneficiaries with lifelong memories – we witness this every trip – we call these magic moments. Something significant happens when people are empowered to go fishing. They move from being a beneficiary, to being a provider. This is a fundamental shift in identity, which allows them to not be defined through the lens of their disability or life challenges. When paired with a strong sense of adventure, comradery and achievement, the positive outcomes, excitement and lift in self-esteem is tangible. You can see it in the faces, eyes and body language of those on board.

We are super excited to be attending the NZ Fishing Hunting & 4X4 Expo in Rotorua starting tomorrow and running through until Sunday.

We'll be at stand 73 so make sure you stop by to say hello!

You can talk to us about nominating someone to come fishing on one of our charters, about volunteering with us or even becoming one of our 500 Club members.

You're based in the Thames/Coromandel area and you want to thank your staff, clients or customers with something different this November.

You want to hire the Wish 4 Fish boat, fully skippered for a harbour cruise with a BBQ lunch, or dinner, on the boat.

You're not sure if you want to throw a few fishing lines around, or sip champagne while listening to music, but that's ok the details can be sorted out later on.

You know by hiring the boat out, you will be helping those less able, to experience everything our charity has to offer.
