A lot of the ideas for these posts actually come from what I notice day to day with my clients.
The triceps are a good example. When someone comes in with shoulder tension or discomfort, they’re often surprised by how tender the back of the upper arm can feel during treatment - especially when they haven’t noticed any pain or tightness there beforehand.
The triceps aren’t just an arm muscle though. The long head crosses the shoulder joint, so it also has a role in shoulder movement and stability and works alongside the muscles around the shoulder and upper back.
It’s a nice reminder that where we feel discomfort isn’t always the only area worth paying attention to. Everything works together, which is part of what makes the body so interesting to work with.
