It’s been a wee while since I introduced myself.
This is me! I’m Kirstin, registered naturopath, medical herbalist, nutritionist, proud partner and aunty, animal mum, farming girl and the face behind The Rural Naturopath.
I graduated as a naturopath at 22, full of enthusiasm and a deep love for natural health. Now 36, a few wrinkles, some silver speckles and there’s been a whole lot of living in between!!
During my training, life was a beautiful mix of studying and farming. I helped my parents with their sharemilking job and was hands‑on with our racehorses.
Some days were lectures, assignments, or those dreaded closed book exams (before open book or ChatGPT) and learning the human body inside out. Other days were gumboots, early starts, and jumping in wherever an extra pair of hands was needed.
It was a pretty unique combo, textbooks in one hand, milking gloves in the other and looking back, it shaped the way I practise far more than I realised. I still jump in boots‑and‑all on the farms whenever I can, supporting my favourite farmer and our farm team. 🫶🏻
Over the years, my clinic has evolved too. What began as a passion for nutrition and herbal medicine has grown into a space where evidence‑based nutrition, herbal support, and understanding you; your story, lifestyle, stressors, family, environment, and stage of life all come together.
Health is never just what’s written on a page. Even with the same condition, no two people have the same story.
These days life is still a beautiful mix of farm and clinic life. Here’s hoping for more sunny days like this as we head into calving. It will make it all the more fun!!
I’m incredibly grateful to have been working alongside Health 2000 Matamata for the last 6 months, bringing practitioner‑formulated herbal support and naturopathic care to our local community. We’ve got something exciting coming in the next couple of weeks! And there are a couple more exciting local spaces on the horizon too…watch this space.
If you have any questions feel free to message me, I’m always here to help.
Thank you for being here, for following along and for the encouragement.
