FAMILY RESEARCH CENTRE
To celebrate Family History Month, the Family Research Centre (FRC) will be open Monday to Saturday every week (including Tuesdays when it is normally closed). For the whole month entry to the FRC will be FREE. Non NZSG members are welcome.
Every Monday and Wednesday during Family History Month at 11am, the volunteers will be holding Talks and Tours of the Library. If you haven’t visited for a while now is the time to do so. Tell your friends and family this is a great opportunity to see all the wonderful resources held in the library and to meet the fantastic volunteers who run everything for us. Remember the FRC is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday during Family History Month and until 8pm on Wednesdays and the first Friday.
ONLINE EVENTS
During August we have arranged a weekly online meeting each Thursday at 7pm for our members around the country and overseas. These sessions are also available for non-members. Come and join us for one or all. There is something here for everyone.
These sessions are designed to highlight how you can get more out of your membership.

Research Services – Thursday 20 August – 7pm
Hosted by the NZSG and the wonderful volunteers at the FRC. An overview of how research services can help with your research. What is available is just an email away. How have I been helped recently? Members will talk about how they have been helped with their research. Our volunteers will explain how you can access the hundreds of thousands of records available through NZSG no matter where you are in the world. Join us to find out how we can help break down your brick wall.

Have you been thinking about it but don't know where to start?
We can help get you started.

Or have you got a paper based family tree or bits of paper all over the place?

Load your family to it, along with documents, photos and stories, they stay on your computer.

You can share it within your own family, by printing out the particular part of the tree you want to share.

Come and see us at the St John Ambulance Hall, 1pm to 3pm. Sunday the 23rd of August 2026 (not the change of date from the poster)
