Unfortunately we are operating with only a skeleton staff this week due to sickness/absences. There may be delays with some of our services, and our Casualty service may not be open all day/every day. Please bear with us, our team are doing their best to keep up.

Keep warm and stay well.

Type 2 Diabetes
Change to criteria for diagnosis

New Zealand has changed the diagnostic
threshold for type 2 diabetes from 1 July
2026 to align with the WHO guidance and
international definitions. This means that
those with an HbA1c 48mmol/mol or higher
will fall into the diabetes range (previously
>50mmol/mol).

Our Women’s Health Team
With two GP members of the Australasian Menopause Society, a Midwife Prescriber, experienced Physician Associates and nurses, there is substantial expertise in our Women’s Health Team.

On matters relating to menopause, sexual health, family planning, and contraception, we offer a comprehensive range of high quality services available to all. You do not need to be enrolled at TAMC to book a consult (casual patients will need to fill out a casual enrolment form, the first time they visit).

Many of the services are subsidised, so often there is a reduced fee, and sometimes no fee, for advice and treatments. Contact our reception to book – 07 872 0300. Make sure to ask our receptionist to book you into the Women’s Health Clinic ▪

Moving overseas?
We recommend you take a copy of your medical notes with you when you move overseas.
To organise this, contact us on [email protected], call us on 07 872 0300, or speak to one of our receptionists in person.
Processing these requests can take up to 10 working days, so it is a good idea to organise this in advance as we don’t send medical notes overseas.
