Have you ever noticed that animals sometimes seem to sense when something is different?

As a death doula and life coach, I’ve heard and witnessed many touching stories about pets staying close to people in their final days. Sometimes a dog won’t leave the bedside. A cat that’s usually distant might curl up quietly next to someone they haven’t sat with in years. Even birds can behave in surprising ways.

Do animals sense when death is near? For some of us and for those who work in end-of-life care, moments are often difficult to explain but comforting to those experiencing them.

Maybe it’s instinct, a reaction to small changes in us, or just the special bond we share. Whatever the reason, our animal companions have a wonderful way of showing that love doesn’t always need words.

I support people through life’s changes, the moments that can feel uncertain, emotional, or overwhelming. This might be personal growth, big decisions, grief, end-of-life journeys, or simply a desire for more clarity and direction.

On your journey, there will be moments of transition ~ those "in-between times" where nothing feels certain.

You might feel lost, confused, unseen, angry, or even completely empty.
But remember, this is not a forever state, and it doesn't mean you're broken.

You're simply shedding what no longer fits, breaking away from what was, and creating space for what's meant to come next.

This in-between place isn't the end, it's the becoming.

It's through loving yourself that true healing begins.

When you choose to offer yourself compassion, acceptance, and kindness, you create the space for old wounds to soften.

Love isn't the result of being healed; it's the path that leads you there.

You're starting to see it now, aren't you? The realisation that everything you've been searching for lives within you, in your thoughts, your heart, and the way you see the world.

Peace doesn't come from what's happening around you; it begins inside. To truly experience calm, you first have to find harmony with yourself. And to fully appreciate life, you need to learn how to appreciate who you are at your core.

When you begin to master this, something shifts. The things that once felt overwhelming lose their power over you. Challenges may still come, but they won't break you. Because once you deeply know and accept yourself, even in moments of solitude, you'll never truly feel alone
