Home is where familiar routines, treasured memories and everyday connections live.

When age, illness, injury or disability makes daily life more difficult, the right support can help whanau remain safe and independent in the place they know best.

Home-based support is not about taking over. It is about working alongside each person, respecting their choices and providing practical help that protects their dignity and mana.

Because feeling supported at home can make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of the whole whanau. All our services are free and for all who live in the rohe of Tuwharetoa

Women often spend so much time caring for whanau that their own health is quietly placed to one side.

Women’s Health Week is a reminder to pause and check in with your whole hauora. How is your tinana feeling? What has been weighing on your hinengaro? Are you making time for the people, places and practices that strengthen your wairua?

Perhaps there is a change you have been ignoring, a health check you have been putting off or a question you have been meaning to ask.

Choose one small step for yourself this week. Make the appointment, begin the conversation, take time to rest or reconnect with something that restores you.

Your health matters too; we are here for you.

Every breastfeeding journey is different.

For some, breastfeeding comes naturally. For others, it can involve challenges, uncertainty, expressing, combination feeding or changing plans along the way.

There is no single experience that looks the same for every mama and pepi. What matters is having access to trusted information, practical support and care without judgement.

Let’s encourage and manaaki our breastfeeding mama, while respecting every whanau and their individual feeding journey.

If you need advice or support, come down to Awhi House or call our office directly : 0800 WHARIKI (0800 942 7454 )

Not every moment needs to be captured.

Smartphones and digital devices help us stay connected, informed, and entertained while spending time in the hospital. But it's important to remember that hospitals are healthcare spaces first and foremost.

We ask visitors to be mindful when using mobile devices, including smartglasses, tablets, laptops, etc, and to avoid photographing or filming staff, patients or other visitors without their consent. We also ask that hospital facilities, equipment and property are not used as props for content that could be disrespectful, disruptive, or interfere with patient care.

If you'd like to take photos or videos during your visit, please make sure you have permission from anyone who may be included as well as permission to film in any hospital space.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, respectful, and caring environment for everyone. 💙

Navigating ACC can be overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone.

If you're living with an injury, managing ongoing pain, or recovering after an accident, dealing with the ACC system can sometimes feel confusing and frustrating. Understanding what you're entitled to, knowing what to do next, or trying to move a claim forward can add extra stress at a time when your focus should be on getting better.

Our ACC Navigation service is here to help. We can support you through the claims process, explain your entitlements in plain language, advocate on your behalf if you feel your needs aren't being heard, and help you explore the treatment and recovery options available to you. We'll also connect you with the right people and services, so you feel supported every step of the way.

Whether you've recently been injured, you're waiting for an ACC decision, or you'd like help reviewing an existing claim, we're here to listen and work alongside you.

It all starts with a confidential korero. Together, we'll take the time to understand your situation, identify the next steps, and help you move forward with confidence.

If you need support navigating ACC, get in touch with Margaret Herewini, our ACC Tiwhana, today.

Who will you check in on today? A quick phone call. A cup of tea. A simple "How are you?"

Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

Life gets busy, and it's easy to lose touch with the people we care about. This week, take a moment to reach out to a friend, neighbour, whānau member, or someone you haven't spoken to in a while.

You don't need to have all the right words. Just letting someone know you're thinking of them can brighten their day and remind them they're not alone.

A little kindness goes a long way. Who will you check in on today?
