Endurance events aren’t designed for fat loss. They’re designed for performance.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen marathon running, HYROX and Ironman become more popular than ever… and we absolutely love seeing more people get involved in endurance sport. But with that has come a growing trend of people using these events primarily as a way to lose weight.

While many athletes naturally improve their body composition during a race build, aggressively chasing fat loss and chasing performance require two very different nutrition approaches.

One of the biggest mistakes we see is athletes trying to stay in a calorie deficit while training for an endurance event.

The result? Training feels harder than it should. Recovery suffers. Performance plateaus. Energy drops, and your body struggles to adapt to the training you’re putting it through.

If your goal is to perform your best, your nutrition should support that.

If your goal is aggressive fat loss, give it its own dedicated phase before your race build begins.

Ironically, when athletes stop trying to force fat loss and start fuelling their training properly, we often see the opposite happen. They train better, recover faster, maintain lean muscle, stay more consistent, and many naturally improve their body composition as a result.

Train for the goal that’s in front of you.

Your body and your performance will thank you for it. 👏🏻🤎

45–60 minute workouts. A stronger body.
More confidence. Better nutrition habits. 61.0kg - 58.0kg

This is what happens when training and nutrition work together. 🤎

Over the past 16 weeks, Rosana didn’t just become stronger in the gym- she built confidence in both her training and nutrition. She learnt how to fuel her body, push herself outside her comfort zone, work through setbacks with the right support, and create sustainable habits that will last well beyond the programme. The result is someone who feels stronger, healthier and more confident in every aspect of life.

The result? A stronger, healthier and more confident version of herself- with the knowledge and habits to keep progressing long after the programme ends. 🤎 Here’s what Rosana had to say: 🥹🤎

Whole Nutrition:
Holy moly I learnt so much through the meal plans from Morgan. I was looking for structure that could set me up well past the 16 weeks and I absolutely found it. It seems so simple just ensuring a well rounded meal includes carbs, protein and fats - but having a plan to stick to really cemented it as a habit.
Morgan was so helpful and supportive and just a message away should I need some advice on the fly. The gal knows her stuff! (And is doing a wonderful job raising a little human and running a business, and should be very proud of herself 🫶🏼)

Whole Stength:
Where do I even start. The effort, expertise and knowledge that has gone into these programs speaks volumes of Kahlees skill as a PT. I am not new to training, but I can 💯 confirm that I had not yet clicked to being “comfortable with being uncomfortable” until I did this program and it has developed my strength so much. And it’s all done within 45-60mins ❤️ Kahlee was so relatable, friendly, supportive and an absolute pro. As soon as I had a shoulder ni**le (which I’m prone to) she sent mobility exercises and stretches, and the issue was solved ✅

With these combined, I am stronger and more confident with my nutrition, training and life in general. Thank you so much ladies for all you do 🙏

(And thank you too Brooke - you’re amazing too..your endurance training is very impressive! 🤩)

🍌🍫 🥜Chocolate, PB & Banana Smoothie Bowl

A balanced breakfast with protein, carbs and healthy fats to keep you fuelled and satisfied.

Ingredients

* 150g low-fat Greek yoghurt
* 1 scoop Two Islands chocolate protein powder
* ½ frozen banana
* 1 tbsp peanut butter
* 1 tsp chia seeds
* Splash of almond milk (if needed)

Top with:

* ½ banana, sliced
* 10g dark chocolate, shaved

Method
Blend the yoghurt, protein powder, frozen banana, peanut butter and chia seeds until smooth and creamy. Add a splash of almond milk if needed to reach your desired consistency. Pour into a bowl and top with the sliced banana and shaved dark chocolate.

Why we love it 🤎
✔️ Protein from the yoghurt and protein powder to support muscle recovery and keep you fuller for longer.
✔️ Carbohydrates from the banana to provide sustained energy.
✔️ Healthy fats from the peanut butter and chia seeds to support satiety and overall health.

Simple, balanced and tastes like dessert. Our kind of breakfast. 🍫🥜🍌

This is exactly how I fuelled my 3:09 marathon. 🏃🏼‍♀️⚡️

I’m still learning, and I’ve definitely got a few things I’d like to tweak as I chase my goal of running sub-3 hours. But after 2 Ironmans, multiple marathons and years of endurance training, I’ve finally found a fuelling strategy that works really well for me.

I like mixing things up throughout the race rather than relying on one product.

🥣 The Maurten Solid Bar is something I like to have earlier on. Having something a little more substantial seems to settle my stomach before I switch to gels for the rest of the race.

🍏 The SiS Apple Gels are another favourite. They’re much thinner than most gels, so after a few hours of running they’re often much easier to get down.

☕ With around 30–40 minutes to go, I’ll usually have a Maurten Caffeine Gel. It’s the perfect boost when fatigue starts creeping in and I know it’s time to empty the tank.

One of the biggest things I’ve learnt is that your fuelling strategy is just as trainable as your fitness. It takes time, trial and error to work out what your body and stomach tolerate best.

That’s exactly why our Performance Plan isn’t just about calories and macros. We work closely with our endurance athletes to dial in both their day-to-day training nutrition and their race-day fuelling strategy, so by the time race day rolls around, there’s no guessing - just a plan that’s been tested in training.

I’m always tweaking and learning, and I’m sure my fuelling will continue to evolve as I chase that sub-3 marathon. 👏🏻🌱

You’re not lazy. You’re probably just under-fuelled. 🤍

We see it all the time…
“I’m exhausted.”
“I have no motivation.”
“I can’t seem to recover.”

And while stress, sleep and life all play a role, one of the biggest things we see is people simply not eating enough.

When your body doesn’t have enough energy coming in, it starts to conserve it. That can look like:
• Constant fatigue
• Brain fog
• Poor recovery
• Feeling cold
• Low motivation to train
• Feeling like you need coffee just to get through the day

Eating enough isn’t about “earning” food or only fuelling hard training. It’s about giving your body what it needs to function, think clearly, recover well and feel good.

More food doesn’t automatically mean weight gain.
In many cases, eating enough is exactly what helps people build a healthier metabolism, improve their relationship with food, train better, and finally start feeling like themselves again.

If you’re always tired, always hungry, or constantly trying to eat less… it might be time to stop asking yourself to do more, and start fuelling yourself better. 🌱🌱

Sometimes the answer isn’t more discipline… it’s more fuel.
