Does anyone else mess with their dog? Or is that just me?

If he wasn’t already retired this would certainly be grounds to do so

Meet the crew: Bella

This is the horse that changed everything.

Bella is a 21 year old quarter horse x Australian stock horse that I bought 13 years ago while unemployed, having known her for two years prior to that. She was the most irresponsible and best decision I ever made.

This horse taught me the value of good mare: she's exacting in her standards, confident in her own position in life, loyal beyond measure and understands that 'no' is a complete sentence that requires no further explanation.

Bella started her days as a stock horse and broodmare in Victoria, Australia and was an absolute pocket rocket in her time. When I returned to NZ I bought her with me knowing that she had health issues which is how I ended up becoming a Bowen Therapist and ultimately changing careers entirely.

Meet the crew: Bear

This is my best mate. His name is Bear, but he also responds to “it’s so fluffy” and “look at his ears”. 😂

Bear is a 4 year old white Swiss shepherd and was bred by Kevin and Stephanie Whittock over at RegalWhite Swiss Shepherds.

Sometimes if you look closely you will see Bear sitting super still in my ute like a creepy stalker. Outside of the Ute he loves nothing more the running at full speed, barking excitedly and being a proper mamas boy.

I don't often talk about Canine Bowen Therapy but wanted to share this flashback of a case study I completed a few years ago.

This beautiful Newfoundland has become one of my absolute favourites. He is a much loved dog that had been receiving exemplary care by his owner. He had top of the range feed, chiropractic treatment and his own fitness training programme but for some reason the level of effort that was going in to him wasn't reflective of how he was presenting.

The two photos show the difference after 3 Bowen Therapy treatments and while he looks incredible in the 'after' photo he looked even more incredible a year on!

I have just realised that while I wasn't looking the followers of this page shot past 1,000!

Sometimes when you run your own business you sit in a bit of a vacuum wondering if anyone will notice you amongst the many offerings out there, so its nice to see that there are people out there interested enough to follow along.

This being the case it's been a minute since I have introduced myself, so here goes. I am Dianne, Bowen Therapist, Scar Tissue Therapist, Farrier, Grazing Manager, Feedbin Storage Creator and Mum.

While I am a born and bred kiwi I spent 8 years in Aussie. I returned 10 years ago, accidentally bringing a broken but much loved horse home with me. What started off as learning Bowen Therapy to help my horse has led to an entire new career and I wouldn't change it for anything!

I love nothing more then bouncing around ideas about why your horse or dog is having trouble with something so if you have something weird and wacky flick me a message, I would love to chat.
