4) The parkrun briefing starts at 7:55am, and the run starts shortly after. You will receive an email after the event with your results. Be mindful of the parkrun code:

1) Do pay attention to the pre-run briefing. Please do not talk during this time as others may not hear the important safety information announced by the Run Director.
2) Respect everyone’s right to participate in their own way.
3) Under 11’s must always be within an arm’s length of a parent or guardian.
4) parkrunners may not be accompanied by wheels on the course - unless they are wheelchairs or pushchairs. Unicycles, bicycles, tricycles, rollerblades, roller-skates, and scooters, etc. pose a risk to safety and are not permitted.
5) Dogs: We love barkrunners! But only 1 well behaved dog on a short leash per parkrunner. Dogs must be always under effective control - especially at the start. Retractable leashes and waist harnesses cannot be used for safety reasons.
6) Please keep left & be mindful of your local environment and other park users.
7) No barcode, no time, no exception. Please bring a clear, scannable copy of your barcode.
8) COVID-19: Please stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
9) parkruns are run by volunteers. Consider helping us to keep parkruns free, for all, forever by volunteering at an event.
10) Do have fun, it’s only a walk, jog or run - it’s not a race…

There'll also be Birthday Cake, why❓️
Because its our 10th Birthday celebration and the morning will be dry and warm, a great reason to chuck onma LOUD shirt and join in the fun with us👍👍

RUN REPORT Event489.

First up, Next Week - our 10th birthday and a LOUD shirt day! What can you make of that theme?
Let your clothing make your statement 👍
Don't be cowed,be Loud, be Proud & with the In Crowd, you'll see your parkmates Wowed‼️
There will be cake, Tania will bake, others too may make - we can eat by the Lake, after daybreak, no need for a headshake.

OK, I'm probably done with rhyme, I've run out of time and many are just a crime 🙃 oops a few more slipped out, write about parkrun scribe, give people a shout ❗️

So many aspects of parkrun radiate around wellbeing and personal wellness & we definitely explored one at Event489, that of "parkFun" !!
A lot of "things" get planned at Pegasus parkrun but E489 couldn't have been more mirthful if I'd tried to make it so. All was looking normal at the start - everyone where they should be and, frankly, all went as normal for around 7 minutes, at that moment a very small comms misfire sent Hannah, our lead runner over the bridges and into the 2-lap course‼️ Craig our RD acted as quickly as he could but by the time he had it sorted another 21 parksters had committed to the 2-lapper. Getting the following 112 parkthletes to stay on the out & back course looked to have fixed things.
But this is parkrun❗️and in defiance of an orderly transit to the finish chute we had 22 speedsters completing the second lap of the summer course, legging it with the walkers on the winter course and eventually "crossing paths" metaphorically with returnees on the out & back😂 so much fun to be had, but pity Anne, our happy snapper for the day, the head swivelling that her neck had to endure would have been intense 🔄. I know that everyone completed their 5km and that Hannah bagged her umpteenth #1 finish token. I also know that Heather Jones completed her 50th parkrun so congratulations for that Heather 🎊 . We have 3 new parkmates to welcome, Raelene and Dean Rees and Ellen Worley all made absolute debuts - you are going to have a blast, on this journey. Hailing from Foster, Hagley, Hobsonville and Neale Park were First-Time Visitors - Florence, Jannes, Grace and Tui, thanks for being here, we will endeavor to get everyone on the same course next time you come along 😀. There were 12 PBs achieved by Judy, Sandra, Arabelle, Simon, Lucy, Brendon, Michelle, Heidi, Rob, Kate, Paul and Nathan....well done all of you 👍👍 So what's next? Matariki event on parkrunday 11th July, after that we have a TuTu event on parkrunday 22nd August and the very next parkrunday is all about Pegasus parkrun Event500 ‼️‼️‼️ which is not to be missed, keep a watchful 👁 on this page. However, until next time, see ya The PegaScribe.

138 parkrunners negotiated a tricky, crazy, unplanned (but it worked) two course event at Pegasus.
We operate a summer course and a winter course and both were utilised today - we all finished without incident 😁😁
