Pegasus parkrun report #501
Spring has sprung. No better way to start a new season than with a Pegasus parkrun. For those of you who are already addicted, you will totally understand. Warmer temperatures, maybe? At least it wasn’t freezing.
For the first time in weeks it was just a normal event. No tutus, no 500th event, no special visitors. But, as usual, it was just what everyone needed to begin the next new journey from our 500th to our 1,000th event. 195 finishers and 16 volunteers joined us for our 501st run. 99 of these were male and 84 were female and 12 were unknown. If the “unknowns” could get their barcode organised for their next run that would be great. After all, it’s a free event and it’s always great to know who is participating plus you get to know how well YOU went.
Welcome to those who are either new to parkrunning or new to Pegasus. Eight were new to parkrun and five new to Pegasus. Thanks for joining us and we hope to see you back sometime: Sam Oldfield, Stephen Wheatland, Joshua Cottle, Tyler Rini, Lillian Newell, Elisabeth Kelso, Kathryn De Hamel, Jose Equivel, Artemis Hingston, Ashleigh Merrick, Robyn Van Den Brink, Glenys Bell and Aria Woolridge.
Milestones and stepping stones are a great incentive to keep you on track. Special congratulations to those who achieved one today: Angela Doig on an impressive 250 runs, Keith Tilley on 150, Linda Bruce and Evan Ley on 50 and Hayley Paterson on 25. Keep up the great work. Plus, let’s not forget the volunteers: Don Young volunteered for the 25th time today, thanks Don.
Some people just blitzed the course today. Well done to the 18 who achieved PB’s: Leigh Power, Linda Bruce, Christina Foster, Elliot Woods, Lee Neville, Seth Clenshaw, Diane Palmer, Hannah Clenshaw, Ben Kingsbury, Simon Baillie, Anthony Beaumont, Leia Beaumont, Roneel Prakash, Craig James, Shannen Morris, Angela Bennett, Sam Clark and Lucy Paterson. You are all amazing.

Interesting fact: Some parkruns find getting enough volunteers especially hard. This week the big thanks go to: Julie Freeman, Chris Matheson, Nathan Bailey, Luke Mansell, Don Young, Sarah Barnes, Nicki Carter, Trudy Diggs, Robyn Young, Anna Clarke, Bidgie Jefferies, Karen Calder, Tania Bailey, Anne Hughes, Geoff McMillan and Maxine Bennett. Remember if we all do our bit, even if it is just a small bit, fantastic events like these can keep going.
Enjoy your upcoming week and we’ll more than likely see most of you again next week.
