Ageing gracefully and having injectables are not mutually exclusive.

I have this conversation in clinic almost every day. “I’ve never had injectables because I want to age gracefully but this xyz is really starting to bother me.”

Somewhere along the way we have decided that ageing gracefully means doing absolutely nothing, it doesn’t.

Equally, having injectable treatments doesn’t have to mean trying to stop the ageing process altogether.

Thoughtful treatment can simply soften, balance or support the features you already have — while still allowing you to look your age, move naturally and, most importantly, look like yourself.

The goal isn’t to look younger at all costs - It’s to feel good about the way you’re ageing 🤍

Smoker’s lines but never smoked? You’re not the only one.

The orbicularis oris is a sphincter muscle that circles the lips. As we age, repeated use of this muscle when talking, eating and drinking, combined with a loss of collagen, elasticity and skin quality, as well as lifestyle and genetics, all contribute to the development of perioral lines — not simply “smoking”.

This is a very common concern, but with small amounts of strategically placed dermal filler, we can soften the deeper lines without looking “done”.

M-shaped lips 🤍

Characterised by more fullness centrally in the upper lip, with less volume towards the outer edges — creating that distinctive ‘M’ shape. They’re also one of the more technically challenging lip shapes to treat.

For this gorgeous result, the focus was on creating a softer, more balanced shape while still keeping everything looking natural.

No two lips need the same technique, the same amount of filler, or the same end result — and that’s exactly what I love about treating lips.

A conversation I’m having A LOT in clinic lately…

After years of focusing almost exclusively on upper-face anti-wrinkle treatments, more patients are starting to notice a disconnect between the upper and lower face — where they feel the top half of their face looks years, or even decades, younger than the bottom.

We’ve become very good at treating forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet — but ageing doesn’t only happen in the top half of the face.

Over time, changes in skin quality and a loss of collagen, facial volume and structural support can become more noticeable through the cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionettes, along the jawline.

For this patient, treatment was about creating more harmony between the upper and lower face — softening some of those age-related changes while still keeping her looking completely like herself. We did this by treating the chin and surrounding area with Dermal Filler.

The goal isn’t to make every line disappear. It’s to have the whole face ageing beautifully together. ✨
