FAMILY NOTICE
Desmond Patrick Middleton, known affectionately to all as Rick, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday 1st June 2026, at the age of 85.

He was the loving husband of Anne, and a devoted father to Steve, Paula, and the late Andrea. His legacy of love and family continues through his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was also the loved brother of Kristine and Merv.

A well-known businessman and deeply community-oriented man, Rick was actively involved in local community charities and trusts. He also spent decades giving back by refereeing Rugby across Auckland, Northland, and North Harbour. In recent years, he found great joy in his involvement with the racing industry and following their horses.

A service to celebrate Rick's life will be held at the Holy Name Catholic Church at the old Ascension Winery, 480 Matakana Road, Warkworth on Saturday 6th June 2026 at 1:00 PM.

Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with brain cancer on Friday 15th May 2026, aged 66 years, surrounded by family. Loved husband of Jacqueline Goldsbury for 25 years. Cherished farther of Portia Goldsbury, Paige Goldsbury, and Seth Giles. Loved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many more. Mike was a truly special man who touched the lives of so many. Warm, loud, incredibly brave, and full of life, he brought laughter, love, and light wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday 23rd May 2026 at 2.00pm at besoul Funerals, 12 Gumfield Drive, Warkworth. Passed away peacefully at home on 26 April 2026 surrounded by family, aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of 64 years of Colleen. Loved brother of Gary. Loved father and father in law of Colin, Sharon and Andrew, Delwyn and Darrell, Steven and Helen, and Carolyn and Todd. Loved Pops of Cindy and Graham, Donna and Terrence, Grant and Sophie, Jayden, Anita, Kaylee, Jarod, Caitlin, Laura and Jack, and his nine great grandchildren Henri, Forrest, George, Della, Harvey, Cora, Allie, Nathan, and Reef.

To us you were something special, so loving kind and true. To us you will never be forgotten, because we loved, and thought the world of you.

A service to celebrate Alvon’s life will be held at Wellsford Community Centre, 224 Rodney Street, Wellsford on Friday 8 May 2026 at 1.00pm to be followed by interment at Wellsford Cemetery.
