We discussed poor electronic prescription quality and the impact on pharmacy, OP dispensing opportunities, the sustainable funding model review currently underway, proposed pharmacy ownership changes, the importance of a national ICPSA contracting policy, and the continued expansion of pharmacist services.

Pharmacies have started receiving Buyer Created Taxable Supply Information (BCTSI) emails from Sector Operations a few days before Case Mix payments. These are being sent separately for each payment component, rather than a single BCTSI covering the full payment.

The intent is to give pharmacies earlier visibility of upcoming payments. We understand the new process has caused confusion and are talking with HNZ about providing clearer info to the sector. The usual remittance advice will show the payment components together.

Guild Interim Chief Executive Glenn Mills had a productive meeting with Associate Health Minister Casey Costello MP this morning. They spoke at length about our serious concerns with ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€ within the Medical Products Bill, and the impacts on pharmacies, patients and communities.

They also discussed the role community pharmacy plays in supporting senior patients at home, and the increasing role we could play with more funded services, including in-home medicine use reviews.

We look forward to continuing to engage with the Minister and providing further ownership advice as requested.
