New Zealand Psychological Society The NZPsS aims to improve individual and community wellbeing by advancing the scientific discipline of psychology and psychology practice.

During Conference, a number of awards and scholarships were presented, and new Fellows named.

The first of these to share is the Jamieson Award winner Professor Katharina Naswäll. This award recognises significant contributions of NZPsS members to industrial and organisational psychology in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is offered once every four years.

Also announced was the GV Goddard Early Career Award for Achievement and Excellence in Applied Psychology winner Dr Emma Woodford. This was awarded in recognition of her significant research contributions for children identified as neurodiverse, who have a rare genetic developmental condition and are under-represented in the research in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.

Yesterday afternoon’s highlights included a keynote presentation from Professor Cliff Abraham and a moving launch of a new documentary, Establishing NSCBI, with a panel of some of its founding members. And this morning we started with a keynote presentation from Professor Waikaremoana Waitoki. With just a few workshops to go, we’re nearly done for this year, and will start looking forward to gathering together again next year!

After a couple of full and stimulating days, tomorrow is the final day of the Conference!

Conference continues with a range of stimulating and interesting activities! Yesterday afternoon, we had a keynote presentation from Huhana Hickey. Last night we came together to enjoy kai and whanaungatanga at the Conference dinner, where awards were also given out and Fellows announced.
This morning, we’ve started the day with a keynote address from Lara Sheehi.
