I hate seeing people try to make themselves look better by putting others down.

When we choose to support others and recognise their strengths, we help build foundations that lift us all. We are all different, and we all have strengths. We can also learn from each other, grow, and become better along the way.

How you treat others shows people how you want to be treated.

We are all human. Look for the light that shines within each of us, and your own light will shine through even the darkest of days.

One of my favourite things about coaching is that no two athletes are the same.
Some are chasing podiums. Some are chasing confidence. Some just want to get through a workout without feeling intimidated.
All of them matter.
I’ve seen people complete their first race, get their first pull-up, come back from injury, manage anxiety around training, or simply start believing they’re an athlete for the first time.
Those moments are every bit as rewarding as coaching someone to a big competition.
The thing I love most is helping people realise they’re capable of more than they thought.
Not because I’m some magical coach.
Because most people are already capable. They just need the right environment, a bit of guidance, and someone in their corner reminding them not to quit on themselves too soon.
Getting to be part of that journey is a pretty cool job.

People often ask me why I put myself through such hard training.

“It looks awful!”

And to be fair… sometimes it does.

But I’ve never seen it as punishment.

When I was 18, I broke my back in three places. There was a time when I didn’t know what my body would be capable of again.

So now, every time I run, lift, race or just move well, I don’t feel hard done by. I feel incredibly lucky.

Yes, it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s brutal.

But I get to do it.

I get to feel strong. I get to see what my body can do. I get to chase goals that once would have seemed impossible.

Not everyone has that opportunity, and I’m very aware of it.

So if it looks hard from the outside, that’s OK.

From the inside, it mostly feels like gratitude.

I never take it for granted when someone chooses to spend an hour of their week with me. Life is busy, and there are so many options out there, so receiving feedback like this is incredibly humbling. 💚

Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to be part of your journey. My hope is that everyone who walks through my clinic door feels welcomed, listened to and cared for.

Messages like this fill my cup and remind me why I love what I do. ✨

Every person’s experience is unique.

One of the biggest myths I hear is that once you hit your 50s, you’ve missed your chance to get stronger.

The reality is, you can still build strength, learn new skills and improve your fitness. Your body is incredibly adaptable, and there is still so much potential to grow.

The difference isn’t that you can’t improve. It’s that recovery becomes just as important as training.

Rest days aren’t a sign of weakness. Sleep isn’t optional. Good nutrition, mobility and listening to your body become every bit as important as showing up and putting in the work.

Progress might look a little different than it did in your 20s, but it’s still progress.

Don’t be afraid to try something new, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Learning new movements challenges your body, keeps your mind engaged, and reminds you that it’s never too late to discover what you’re capable of.

Whether you’re 25, 50 or 75, your body is designed to adapt when you give it the right challenge, and the right recovery.

Performance training isn’t just for elite athletes. It’s for anyone who wants to challenge themselves, build strength and discover what they’re capable of. Everyone starts somewhere, and with the right coaching, you can continue to progress for years to come.

If you’ve been thinking about trying strength training, HYROX or performance-based training but haven’t quite taken the leap, this is your sign. Come and give it a go. You don’t need to be fit to start, you just need to start.

I’m lucky enough to coach alongside an incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and supportive team. Whether you’re looking to get stronger, move better, or simply challenge yourself in a new way, you’ll be welcomed, supported and coached every step of the way.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time, this is it.
