The Living Temple - Spring Equinox

Embodiment | Tea | Meditation

The Living Temple is a series of gatherings devoted to the turning of the year.

The word temple evokes a place of worship. Here, with The Living Temple, we turn our attention towards what is already sacred: the seasons, the earth, our bodies, transformation and the mystery of being alive.

Each gathering is an opportunity to return to nature and to ourselves, to notice where we are within the greater rhythms of the living world, and to honour the season we are moving through.

For the Spring Equinox, we gather at a moment of balance, when day and night meet as equals and the earth begins to stir with new life.

This is a time of emergence, renewal and gentle awakening. Even though our event is a few days before the actual equinox, it allows us to connect with this energy and move through it easefully.

Through embodied movement, a tea ceremony and guided meditation, we will slow down enough to listen. To feel the changing season within our own bodies. To soften into what is emerging, and to consider what we are ready to nurture as we move into the brighter half of the year.

A space to breathe.
A space to listen.
A space to reconnect with the living world, and with the living temple within you.

The Living Temple can be experienced either in person or online. In-person spaces are limited to keep the gathering intimate and held, while the online option allows you to create your own sacred space wherever you are.

In person: $45 | Online: $35

20 September 2026
3-5pm
Upstairs at Wisdom Is Yours or ONLINE via Zoom.

Things I’ll happily accept as payment for a healing session instead of money 💸

🪴 House plants
🥕 Fruits & veggies from your garden
🍪 Baked goodies
🧶 Your craft
🕯️ Candles, crystals, or cards

In special circumstances, I’m happy to explore a different kind of exchange if money is feeling out of reach.

Your garden, your kitchen, your creativity, your treasures. Sometimes abundance comes in forms other than money 💗

If this resonates, send me a message and we can chat about what a fair exchange might look like.

August carries the subtle promise of change.

Winter still blankets the land, yet something within the earth has begun to awaken. The days are noticeably longer, birds begin to sing a little earlier, and the first blossoms tentatively appear. The world has not fully awakened, but it is gently stretching toward the light.

Yang continues to rise within Yin. The returning energy is no longer just an invisible spark. It is beginning to take form, though it is still delicate and easily depleted.

Where July asked, can you trust what is beginning to emerge?, August asks: Can you nurture what is awakening without asking it to become more than it is?

TW: grief and loss 💔

Last month, my sweet little creature of darkness, Nova, was hit by a car. She didn’t make it, and the grief of losing her has been immense. She was the second fur baby I’ve lost within a year. Couple that with a close family member battling a severe illness; it’s been a hell of a time.

This month has been one of the hardest of my life. It feels like it has lasted so much longer than a handful of weeks. So much exhaustion, sadness, anxiety. Then, to get a concussion on top of it all, while processing every emotion and recalibrating to multiple new versions of normal, has been a lot.

In many ways, this month has felt like a wasteland. The ground has felt scorched, cracked, and barren. But even the earth knows that a landscape stripped bare is not the end of the story. There are seasons when nothing appears to grow, when all we can do is tend quietly to the soil and trust that life is still stirring beneath the surface.

Perhaps this is one of those seasons.

So I’m taking each day as it comes and slowly returning to my work. Not because everything is hunky dory now, but because healing rarely arrives all at once. It comes in small moments. In gentle breaths. In laughing with loved ones. In noticing the beginning of daffodils.

I miss you small one, this hard time would feel easier if you were still here 🖤

Imbolc sits halfway between the Winter Solstice/Yule and the Spring Equinox/Ostara. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, winter hasn’t finished with us yet (frosty mornings, hello!) but you can feel the season beginning to shift. It’s subtle. Gentle. Easy to miss if we’re not taking time to be present.

There is something deeply healing about allowing the earth to set the pace instead of constantly trying to outrun her.

The Daoists teach that the greatest wisdom comes from moving with nature rather than against her. Looking around at this time of year, it’s easy to see why. Nothing is forcing itself into bloom. Everything is unfolding in its own time.

Maybe that’s our invitation too.

Traditional Date: August 1, 2026
Astronomical Midpoint Date: August 7, 2026 (at 9:41 pm)

An update from me ✨

I’ll be stepping back from all of my offerings for the month of July. Life has asked me to turn inward and be with my family, my own heart, and what matters most right now.

As someone who holds space for others, I’m being reminded that sometimes the deepest practice is allowing ourselves to pause, soften, and receive support too.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and the kindness so many of you have already shown me. This community means more than I can say.

I’m hoping to return in August, though I want to honour the truth that my offerings may not look exactly the same when I do. Seasons change us. Grief changes us. Life changes us. And I’m allowing space for whatever wants to emerge on the other side of this pause.

For now, I’ll be taking things one day at a time.

Blessed be.

With love,
Rebekah 💗

Note to self: Rest allows action to arise from fullness rather than depletion.

Many of us have learned to serve from our reserves, pushing through fatigue and giving from an already empty cup. It feels like many of us are navigating this right now.

But sustainable service, creativity, and productivity don’t come from constantly doing more. They come from knowing when to pause and replenish.

Just as the earth has seasons of growth and seasons of renewal, we too need both effort and rest to thrive.

The invitation is not to stop serving, creating, or contributing. It is to do so from overflow rather than depletion. To give from what is abundant, not from what is left.

On Sunday the 21st June, we arrive at the Winter Solstice, Yule, the longest night of the year for the Southern Hemisphere.

For our ancestors, this was a sacred threshold. The darkness had reached its greatest depth. The fields lay dormant, food stores were carefully tended, and the certainty of spring was still months away. Yet fires were lit, candles were kindled, and communities gathered to celebrate.

From a Daoist perspective, this is one of the most potent moments of the year. Winter belongs to the Water Element, to deep Yin energy, to stillness, rest, and conservation. The energy of nature is drawn inward. And yet, the moment Yin reaches its fullest expression is also the moment Yang begins to emerge.

I also have my free online Winter Solstice Nidra event happening on Sunday 7:30-9pm. Get cosy, and be rest into the magic of midwinter. DM me register 💙
