Hi Frens. Rodney here with your Rainbow Bridge update. Mum often gets asked by bereaved Fur Baby pawrents what they can do to halps honour their passed pet. While you will never forget your Angel Baby, time will halps heal that broken heart. There is no set timeframe and each pawrent has to go through their grief individually. Often, your Angel Baby, (when the time is right), will send another fur baby to their pawrents to experience the same lurrves they did during their time with them. Lighting a candle (especially in the evening) is something that halps (make sures to blow it out before bed). Leaving a painted rock with your Angel baby’s name at my Meowmorial garden at Aunty Vivs Kitchen in Sanson is also something you can do. The garden continues to expand and is a bootiful tribute to all Angel Fur Babies. Making a donation to a local rescue in your Angel Baby’s name halps continue not only your angel babys legacy but also halps rescues continue their wonderful works. Strangely enough, this is often where new fur babies are found (courtesy of Angel Babies) You may have other suggestions to share to halps other bereaved pawrents.
New Angels continue to arrive at the Rainbow Bridge. Here are just a few of them:
Clyde, Dutuchie Hannah, TJ Downs, Maya the Cat, Mary Ingham (reunited with her sis fur PP), Dort of Mikey of ZB Talkback & Ivy Berrett.
Keep sending me the names of your Angel Fur Frens & I will watch out for them. Meantimes, keeps being kinds to each other. Sending hugs to you all, your boy, Rodney ###🐾💞🌈🪽

Grandpa Buster and KitKat have been big halps picking up the slack for me in betweens. You will already have seen KitKats latest project (named Charlie Cat) at Aunty Viv & Uncle Kevans Viv’s Kitchen. She has worked so hard bringing this wee surprise together for them & it sures looks like she achieved it!
Here are some of the new arrivals recently to Rainbow Bridge:
Teddy, Taniwha, Tiger & Ariande of The Peaceable Kin-Dom, Doggo Frankie of the Pet Food Bank, Kiki Weekes, Barney McDonnell, Squiggle Harris, Doggo Zelig Horton (still using his tail as a flag), Opal Kimbrekos, Bridy Star Thorner (reuinited with Princess), Jinx P, Monty Neilson, Melba Ornsby, Doggo Boss McDonnell & Penny Forrest-Angel. Each & every new arrival has settled in well and are watching over their families with lurrves.

Hi Frens. Rodney here from the Rainbow Bridge. I thoughts I might change my regular post up with something different for you this weekend. Here is a flashback to when I came home to stay with Mum & Dad after you all rallied to get me there when I was lost (twice). Even though I do miss them terribly, I am still close by and continue my impawtants job here at the Rainbow Bridge. Enjoy my snapshots of the past & I will be back early May with another Rainbow Bridge update for you all. Sending hugs, your boy, Rodney ###🐾💞🌈🪽

Hi everyone. Raye & Shane here. We would like to take the opportunity to thank each & every one of you for your kind words and messages following the heartbreaking loss of Barney. We have read them all & in time will respond. Like Rodney, Barneys life with us was far shorter than we wanted but was filled with love, cuddles and a perpetually full tummy & warm bed (of which there were many dotted around the farm). Barney returned home to us this evening and is currently in his favourite sleeping spot in the lounge. We are so privileged in Wanganui to have the services of Bryce & Sandy Coneybeer of Cremate-a-Mate who showed the utmost kindness to us (& Barney) & made the process so much easier to bear. We couldn‘t recommend them any higher knowing Barney was well taken care of whilst in their care. We know Barney will be having a good catch up with Rodney and will be “counting” endless bunnies up at Rainbow Bridge ###🐾💞🌈🪽

Trigger Warning (Barney DOB unknown-06/04/2026) He came as a stray & became part of our family. He will be missed furrever…….💔

”Hi Mum, Hi Dad! It’s me Barney. I made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge. Rodney was already waiting for me & gave me my Angels Wings.
aren’t they just spectacular? I am healthy again and no longer in any pain. Rainbow Bridge is such a bootiful place. The sun is always shining & there are flowers and butterflies everywhere. There are loads of bunnies here too for me to chase but don’t worry, I will never catch them like I did at the farm. (That is someone else’s job now). All the animals here are super friendly. I have already met Grandpa Buster & KitKat (who is showing me the ropes). I know you will both miss me but I am watching over you and one day, when the time is right, I might even send another stable kitteh your way to be spoiled the same way I was. Thankyou for giving me such a great home, a full tummy & a warm bed to sleep in each night. Thankyou also for caring enough to help me cross the Rainbow Bridge when you could see my body giving out. Remember, this is not goodbye, it’s just see you later. Your boy, Barney ###🐾💞🌈🪽”

Hi Frens. Rodney here with your Rainbow Bridge update. We sadly continue to have many new Angel Fur Frens arrive as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. Grandpa Buster has been particularly busy caring for the many new Angel Fur Babies that have sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge because of this and is doing such a great job. Like you however, we are hoping and praying that there will be a resolution to this conflict very soon. Speaking of Grandpa Buster, many of you are following Kitty Kingdom Wellington-Cat Sanctuary and may have noticed a recent new & strangly familiar arrival. (Grandpa Buster may have pawsibly played a teensy part in sending Buster 2.0 to Aunty Alice to halps here care for the babies.) Grandpa Buster is so proud of his protege and his following his progress from up here.
Other recent arrivals include:
Wee Man of Kitty Kingdom Wellington-Cat Sanctuary, Ginger Ninja of Ellerslie Community Group, Mia Archbold, Zorro Rose, Doggo Etta & Frankie Lee.
Keep sending me the names of your Angel Fur Frens so I can keep an eye and a paw out for them for you.
As you all know, I is all about the kindness and Mum wants to make a special mention on my behalf’s. Times are becoming increasingly difficult because of the Middle East Conflict and the economic fallout from this. Be aware of those in our community who are really struggling to make ends meet, especially now. If you have a veggie garden or an orchard, keep an eye out for the special roadside stands where people needing help can get supplies. You may see the special little bins at the supermarket where an extra can of food can be dropped to help those less fortunate. You may also be cleaning out your linen cupboards and have extra towels or bedding you can donate to a rescue to halps them through the colder months. No act of kindness is ever wasted and the world needs kindness more than ever now. Meantime, keep taking care of each other. Sending hugs, your boy, Rodney ###🐾💞🌈

Hi Frens. Rodney here with your Rainbow Bridge update. I apawlogise for the delays but am back again in all my glories. My works here continues. We have had a huge amount of Angel Fur Frens arrive as a result of a terrible conflict in the Northern Hemisphere. Our thoughts are with ebryone who has been affected and we all hope the powers that be can bring an early resolution & peace & harmony will return soon.
On a brighter note, Mum & Dad called in to Aunty Vivs during the week. They were on there way to a very special 80th Birthday (not to name drop but feel free to wish my very special Aunty Joy P a Happy Birthday). Mum spotted KitKats gorgeous meomorial stone at the front entrance of Vivs Kitchen (complete with her Hi Viz Vest). Make sures to check it out next times you visit. Aunty Viv also has a bootiful mural commission underway there at the moment. Many of you feline fans will be familiar with Swiftmantis and this latest works will not disappoint. I can sees lots of Selfies being taken in Aunty Vivs Kitchens carpark soon.
Grandpa Buster, KitKat & I has issued Angels Wings to many new arrivals over recent days and weeks. Here are just some of them:
Roxie, Wilson the Whanganui Ginger Cat, Odin of The Mobile Vet Nurse, Tripper Hopkins, Birdy Romeo of Funky Chicken, Milly Lightful, Tigger of Pet Food Bank, Finzy Harrison, Gee Gee Endo The Blind, Roo of Black Goat Farm and Sanctuary and Frankie Rudolph. Keep sending me the names of your recently passed fur babies so I can find them for you and pass a message onto them for you all. Keeps being kinds to each other cos I is all about the kindness. Sending hugs, your boy, Rodney ###💞🐾🌈

Hi Frens, Rodney here. Many of you have noticed my page has been a wee bit quieter than normal this year. There is a very good reason for that. On New Years Eve, my doggo fur sister Maddison (aka Maddie) sat down to has her dinner and couldn’t get back up again. Mum & Dad spent New Years Day getting Maddie to Massey Vets for urgent spinal surgery (herniated disc in her lower back which was pressing onto her spinal cord). Maddie has just completed 6-7 weeks of crate rest like a champion. It has meant lots of physio to keep her muscles and joints supple and endless lifting and carrying outside for toilet breaks which has kept Mum & Dad super busy (but they haven’t minded because Maddie has gone from completely paralysed in her back legs to walking again (even if sometimes she looks like a drunk sailor but don‘t tell her I saids that). The Massey Vet Dr Andrew said it can take up to 3 months to get the full benefits of surgery but so far, things are looking purretty good for her. It will be a mystery as to how she injured herself but anything she can jump on or off is now banned at Maddies home. Feels free to leave a message for Maddie congratulating her on a job well done. Mum & Dad wants you to know my page will be back to “normal” again real soon. Sending hugs, your boy, Rodney ###🐾💞🌈

Hi Frens. Rodney here with your Rainbow Bridge update. Well, the first month of 2026 has already come to an end however my work here continues. So many new Angels have had their wings distributed. Here are just some of them:
Sartchi Buckley, Doggo Callie Shoupe, Doggo Pickles, Kitty Nuku, Doggo Doug MacAllister-Robb of Very Important Pet Chauffeur, All the Victoria Wildfire fur babies, Kitty Tato, Kitty Nuka, Kitty Logan Wolzak, Doggo Tonto Moffat, Jinny of Motor Vessel Wairua, Birdy Princess Thorner, Lola the Aro Park Kitty, Zeke Powers, Kitty Ozzy & Doggo Bandit Skudder. All these new Angels have settled in well and are watching over their Hoomans with lurrves. They will be sending wee messages to let them know they are still about so keep an eye out for that flitting butterfly, that single feather appearing out of nowhere or a wee bird suddenly appearing in your garden. Sometimes, when the time is right of course, they might even send a new fur fren for their Hoomans to lurrves again (so be purr-pared). Don’t furrget that painted rocks of your Angel fur fren can be left at my Meowmorial Garden at Viv’s Kitchen. Mum saw the Garden recently and said it has loads of bootiful new painted rocks so keep them coming. Meantimes, keeps being kinds to each other cos I is all about the kindness. Sending hugs, your boy, Rodney ###🐾💞🌈

Ozzy is safe here at Rainbow Bridge but wanted me to share his story to raise awareness of all the lost, stray, abandoned & unwanted kittehs out there. Keep a tissue handy frens……###🐾💞🌈🪽

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞🌈
Yeah… this isn’t how I imagined it either, but life doesn’t really ask for permission. Sometimes it just taps you on the shoulder and says, it’s time.

Ozzy here 🦇
And I want you to know something right away — I left this world loved, unconditionally.

I was somewhere between sixteen and “old enough to have seen too much.”
Most of my life was hard. Not dramatic-hard, just quietly miserable.
Bad food. Hunger. Fleas. Dehydration. Long days and longer nights.

If I was loved once, I can’t really remember it. It’s all a bit blurry now.

For years, I lived one street up from here, outside a house that never quite felt alive. People came and went. Some left for good.
I stayed.

I sat by that door in rain, wind, heat and sun, looking like I belonged somewhere even though I didn’t. Thin. Scruffy. Tired.

Most people passed by assuming someone else had responsibility for me.

That’s how it usually works — everyone thinks someone else is taking care of it.

Dad passed me too.
Not because he didn’t care — but because he believed what he was told.
“He belongs to that house.”
And when enough people repeat something, even doubts start to quiet down.

But something stayed with him.
A feeling that something wasn’t right.

Then came this summer.
The hottest day of the year. Nearly forty degrees.
I was done. Empty. Dehydrated. Sick.
I lay in the middle of the road, not really hoping anymore — just waiting for it to stop.

And then I heard it.

The car.
The catmobile.
The one every cat in town knows.

Dad stopped. Got out.
We looked at each other — just for a few seconds, but it felt like a lifetime.

And he said,
“Right. You’re coming with me.”

Front seat.
Still the proudest moment of my life.

From that moment on, everything changed.
Hospitals. Tests. Care.

Years of bad food had damaged my intestines. I was basically a frame with a coat. But I was safe. Warm. Finally seen.

Me and dad… we found each other.
Not loudly. Not dramatically.
Just deeply.

At night, I climbed into his bed, under the duvet, tucked under his chin, holding his arm with both paws like I might float away if I let go.
Oopsy slept below me.
That was our place. Every night.

Mornings had a rhythm.
Coffee on.
Ozzy first.

And here’s what I want you to take with you.

When you save an old, battered street cat, something shifts.
Not just in them — in you.

The gratitude comes first.
Then the trust.
And then a kind of love that feels different.
Not better than any other love — just deeper. Quieter. Aware that time matters.

Kittens bring joy and chaos.
Young cats grow with you.

But old cats arrive knowing.
They don’t need convincing.
They don’t need lessons.

They walk in, stretch out on the sofa, and say, this will do — I’m home.

In shelters and on streets, they wait.
Not because they are less lovable — but because their love doesn’t shout.
Their faces tell stories. Their hearts carry weight.

When someone finally chooses them, they give everything back.
Not forever.
But completely.

So yeah… goodbye, everyone.
I was warm.
I was full.
And I was loved.

That was enough. 🐾🖤

Ozzy 🦇
