✨ Matariki NeuroSomatic ✨

Friday | 9:30am

As the stars of Matariki rise, we're invited to pause.
To honour those who came before us, give thanks for what is present, and plant intentions for the season ahead.

In the quiet of winter, nature reminds us that rest is sacred. That not everything is meant to bloom all at once.

This Friday's NeuroSomatic Yoga class is an invitation to remember that your body is a templeβ€”a place to return to with reverence, curiosity, and care.

Through mindful movement, breath, and nervous system regulation, we'll create space to soften, reconnect, and listen deeply to the wisdom already within.

Come exactly as you are.

✨ NeuroSomatic Yoga | Friday at 9:30am ✨

As winter invites us inward, it's the perfect time to tend to our inner fire. When the days are colder and darker, our bodies and nervous systems can become contracted, depleted, or overwhelmed.

Tomorrow's NeuroSomatic Yoga class is designed to gently awaken warmth from within, helping to regulate the nervous system while cultivating grounding, vitality, and ease.

Through mindful movement, breath, and nervous system-informed practices, we'll explore how to: πŸ”₯ Stoke and nourish our inner Agni

❄️ Release tension and thaw winter stiffness
🧠 Support nervous system regulation and resilience
πŸ’› Create a deeper sense of safety, warmth, and connection within ourselves

This practice is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the wisdom of your body.

I apologise for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your understanding. My NeuroSomatic class will resume on Friday at 9:30am as usual 🀞🏾.
In the meantime, take care of yourselves β€” keep breathing, keep moving, and I’ll see you back on the mat soon. πŸ’›

✨ NeuroSomatic Yoga Tonight ✨

The longest night is behind us. The Sun is coming Back! β˜€οΈ

Tonight we meet at the turning pointβ€”where darkness begins to give way to light, and the body is invited to do the same.
A slow, restorative NeuroSomatic journey of breath, movement, stillness, and nervous system repair.

πŸ•―οΈ Soft light
πŸ’¨ Grounding breath
🧠 Gentle somatic release
A space to exhale, reset, and welcome the returning sun.

This Pride Week class is held with inclusivity, care, and respect for all bodies and identities.
As a long-time yoga teacher and counsellor working with Gender Minorities Aotearoa, I hold this space with a focus on safety, nervous system awareness, and embodied practice.
NeuroSomatic Yoga explores the connection between body, breath, and nervous system through yoga, movement, and awareness. It’s a space to slow down, regulate, and reconnect to yourself in a grounded and supportive way.
For q***r and gender diverse people especially, being able to feel the breath safely in the body is powerful β€” sometimes deeply restorative in itself.
This class invites you to soften, reset, and reconnect β€” physically, emotionally, and energetically, with space for presence, meaning, and deeper connection to self. Happy PrideπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Pricing: β€’ $20 casual class
β€’ $160 10-class pass
β€’ $10 LGBTQIA+ Pride Month rate πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Thank you to the team at the Royal Whanganui Opera House for making this happen.

Of course this is a great time to remind you about the Submission Party this Friday at midday.

Come hang out at Pride Whanganui and get your submission in on the Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment Bill before the deadline closes midnight, 2 July 2026.

What's the bill?
It's a NZ First member's bill that passed its first reading on 20 May and is now heading to the select committee where they want public feedback to see if it's worth progressing - let's tell them to throw it in the bin!

The bill would legally define "woman" and "man" across all New Zealand laws as "adult human biological female" and "adult human biological male" respectively. These vague, circular definitions erase everyone whose body or identity falls outside rigid s*x and gender binaries, including inters*x people.

It's a direct attack on trans, non-binary, Takatāpui, MVPFAFF+ and inters*x New Zealanders, and despite being promoted as protecting women, it will cause harm to all women.

Come along to:

> Submit on the bill
> Eat some snacks and share ya feels in good company
> Get support from people who've submitted before or check out some handy guides we can provide
> BYO laptop, we'll have a couple of spares. Snacks and warm drinks provided.

We're hosting this event twice, once on Friday the 19th from 12pm and again on Tuesday 23rd from 6pm.

Can't make it? You can still submit!

AI. ✨

I'm reflecting on Ancestral Intelligence (the good kind of AI).

Long before algorithms, the Rishis observed the relationship between breath, mind, body, and consciousness.
Patanjali later distilled this wisdom into the Yoga Sutras: teachings that remain profoundly relevant today.

No matter how advanced technology becomes, we still have access to one of the most powerful regulation tools we carry with us: our breath.

Join me for NeuroSomatic Yoga as we explore the body-brain connection through movement, breath, and awareness.
