Before anyone asks... the photo is just for laughs! 😂 The T-shirt has absolutely nothing to do with this post. I just thought it might make a few people smile... or wonder what on earth the story is if you don't know the All Blacks "Bring Back Beaver" moment.

Have you ever wondered what burnout actually feels like?

I'm not embarrassed to share this. In fact, I think it's worth talking about because if my experience helps even one person recognise the signs or realise they're not alone, then it's worth it.

I used to think burnout was just being tired.

After fighting for my life through cancer, I honestly believed I could handle anything. I also think, deep down, surviving made me want to cram as much into life as possible. When you've faced your own mortality, you realise life is precious, and maybe I started living as though I had to fit everything in because none of us know what's around the corner 💪

Then burnout hit.

I never saw it coming 👀

It wasn't just exhaustion. It was anxiety. Feeling overwhelmed by the smallest things. A constant sense of being on edge. My nervous system had simply reached its limit.

Running a small business, growing a team, opening a second clinic, navigating a tough economy, and life in general... it all quietly caught up with me 🥴

So, if I've been a little quieter than usual, slower to reply, or just not quite myself over the past few weeks, this is why.

Thankfully, with the love and support of my hubby, my family, friends, and the kindness of my beautiful clients, I'm back to feeling like me again, and I'm incredibly grateful 🙏

If you've been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unlike yourself lately, don't ignore it. Burnout doesn't happen overnight. It builds slowly until your mind and body ask you to stop.
