If you find head lice, check the whole household and treat everyone affected on the same day. Follow the product instructions carefully—many treatments need repeating to catch newly hatched lice.

We’re encouraging everyone to come in store and sign the petition for a mammogram machine in Whitianga.
For many people in our community, travelling out of town for a mammogram can be difficult, stressful, and sometimes a barrier to getting screened.
A local mammogram machine could make breast screening more accessible, support earlier detection, and give local families greater peace of mind.

Strep throat testing is available at Mercury Bay Pharmacy for all ages. If the test is positive and treatment is appropriate, our pharmacist may be able to prescribe and supply antibiotics onsite for people aged over 12 years.

Our pharmacist is now certified to support early care and treatment for a range of minor bacterial skin infections, including:

✅ Impetigo / school sores
✅ Cellulitis
✅ Folliculitis
✅ Infected insect bites
✅ Wound infections
✅ Burns early care

When appropriate, we can provide antibiotics and antiseptics onsite under standing order, helping avoid delays in treatment. For infected wounds, we can also provide tetanus vaccination when appropriate to guidelines.

This service is available for patients 3 years and over. Some infections may need referral for urgent medical assessment, and our pharmacist will guide you through the right next step.
