A calcaneal spur (heel spur) is one possible cause of heel pain, but they are not the same thing.
* Heel pain = the symptom.
* Calcaneal spur = a bony projection from the heel bone (calcaneus), usually seen on an X-ray.
* A very common cause of pain under the heel is plantar fasciitis. A heel spur may be present along with it, but the spur itself isn’t always what causes the pain.
* Typical plantar-fasciitis pain is worst with the first few steps in the morning or after sitting/resting, and may ease after walking for a while.

· ألم الكعب هو العرض الذي تشعر به.
· مهماز الكعب هو نتوء عظمي صغير يظهر في الأشعة السينية، لكنه قد لا يكون هو المسبب للألم.
· السبب الأكثر شيوعاً لألم أسفل الكعب هو التهاب اللفافة الأخمصية، وغالباً ما يكون الألم في أشدّه عند الخطوات الأولى صباحاً أو بعد الجلوس الطويل، ثم يخف تدريجياً مع المشي.
